HelMSIC International Training - HIT 2024!
HIT - HelMSIC International Training is a peer education training workshop addressed to medical students from around the globe. This year HIT includes the following workshops:
TNT|Training New Trainers
PRET|Professional & Research Exchange Training
HRMP|Human Rights for Medical Practitioners
PRACT|Public Relations Communication & Advocacy Training
Each of these workshops aims to educate medical students on soft skills, exchanges, human rights and public relations, through peer education methods. The workshops last 4 days each and take place simultaneously. All of them will be held in English.

1 Background:
In IFMSA we are working on the cornerstone of the health system. We are working on the future doctors, and particularly in SCOME, we focus more on the development of medical education through the medical students and working on their knowledge, skills, and attitudes, to be able to shape the best version of medical education and then the entire health system.
Medical students will gain clinical experience in classrooms throughout their education. They will develop some hard and soft skills and may be exposed to some capacity-building events in IFMSA or other organizations. As they are an important part of the medical education process and health system, they may face and identify some drawbacks and problems.
Online AMET provides and develops medical students with the skills to be able to lead, advocate, and empower others to make a change in medical education. To be able to put their experience, knowledge, and skills into action with a high-quality level of students’ participation and representation to become change agents in the health systems and health advocates.
This proposed workshop particularly aims to address our IFMSA Global Priority: Post-Pandemic Recovery, in a way to gathers medical students in a learning environment where they get to apply the Medical Education theory and Advocacy skills in drafting plans of action related to the topic especially their Meaningful engagement in their education. Not only this, but this workshop will provide the participants with the needed tools they may need to advocate for the recovery of their education as research, policy-making, stakeholders external representation, etc.
The workshop will occur over 4 weeks and a total of 18 hours with no more than 3 hours per day and 2 hours straight, starting from the 16th of March to the 7th of April 2024.

What's the occasion?
The International Day of Women and Girls in Science recognises and celebrates the achievements of women and girls in STEM fields. It emphasises gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls in the scientific community.
In 2015, the United Nations General Assembly established an annual International Day dedicated to acknowledging the vital role of women and girls in science and technology. This resolution laid the foundation for the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, celebrated every year on February 11.
This year's focus
The International Day of Women and Girls in Science is a platform to advocate for complete and equal access to and involvement in scientific pursuits for women and girls. In this year’s celebration, the primary focus revolves around the theme "Closing the Gender Gap in Science: Accelerating Action," culminating in an event hosted by the UN on February 9.
IFMSA aims to raise awareness and support the topic through a social media campaign from the 8th to the 11th of February and an Open Space Discussion on the 12th with previous IFMSA members who are women holding Leadership positions. This OSD will take place in an inspiring and welcoming environment. It will provide a platform for women role models in science to share their experiences, challenges, and successes.

Background Information
Do you dream about working in disaster settings? Are you interested in playing an active role in emergencies and disasters? Do you want to learn how to deliver healthcare when the needs exceed the resources?
• The Training Disaster Medicine Trainers (TdmT)
is an international program developed by the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA) together with
CRIMEDIM, the Research Center in Emergency and Disaster Medicine at the University of Piemonte Orientale in Novara, Italy.
• It aims to provide medical students with theoretical knowledge and basic skills in Disaster Medicine, empowering them to share the knowledge gained with their peers and communities.
• The 2024 TdmT course will consist of a three-month self-paced online phase and a six-day face-to-face residential phase in Novara, Italy
.
• The course will consist of a three-month long online self-paced phase followed by a live participation phase, held
live this year, from the 7th to the 12th of July 2024, of approximately 45 working hours.
• During the live participation phase of the course, there will be classes with both conventional and innovative teaching strategies. Students will learn from experts in the emergency and disaster medicine sector. There will also be live simulations to apply the knowledge acquired in both the asynchronous and residential phases.
• The course will provide students with the skills and knowledge to deliver disaster medicine courses to other medical students within their communities and globally. By the end of the program, participants who successfully complete the course content will become certified IFMSA-CRIMEDIM Disaster Medicine Trainers.
What to do if you are interested?
If you want to attend the TdmT, you can apply through the following application form. The application deadline is 23:59 GMT+1 (CET) on February 20th, 2024.
• Please note that late applications will not be considered.
• Please note that selected students must fulfil the course's online and live participation phases to graduate.

1 The TdmT is an annual program organised by CRIMEDIM in collaboration with IFMSA to train medical students to become certified disaster medicine trainers.
2 The course will consist of a 3-month self-paced online asynchronous phase from April to June and a live residential phase from the 7th to the 12th of July 2024 in Novara, Italy.
3 The course will cost 490 euros, covering the boarding (accommodation, breakfast, lunch), lodging and some remunerations (if applicable) to some external experts.

Background Information
Do you dream about working in disaster settings? Are you interested in playing an active role in emergencies and disasters? Do you want to learn how to deliver healthcare when the needs exceed the resources?
• The Training Disaster Medicine Trainers (TdmT)
is an international program developed by the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA) together with
CRIMEDIM, the Research Center in Emergency and Disaster Medicine at the University of Piemonte Orientale in Novara, Italy.
• It aims to provide medical students with theoretical knowledge and basic skills in Disaster Medicine, empowering them to share the knowledge gained with their peers and communities.
• The 2024 TdmT course will consist of a three-month self-paced online phase and a six-day face-to-face residential phase in Novara, Italy
.
• The course will consist of a three-month long online self-paced phase followed by a live participation phase, held
live this year, from the 7th to the 12th of July 2024, of approximately 45 working hours.
• During the live participation phase of the course, there will be classes with both conventional and innovative teaching strategies. Students will learn from experts in the emergency and disaster medicine sector. There will also be live simulations to apply the knowledge acquired in both the asynchronous and residential phases.
• The course will provide students with the skills and knowledge to deliver disaster medicine courses to other medical students within their communities and globally. By the end of the program, participants who successfully complete the course content will become certified IFMSA-CRIMEDIM Disaster Medicine Trainers.
What to do if you are interested?
If you want to attend the TdmT, you can apply through the following application form. The application deadline is 23:59 GMT+1 (CET) on February 20th, 2024.
• Please note that late applications will not be considered.
• Please note that selected students must fulfil the course's online and live participation phases to graduate.
• We will communicate the deadlines for payment and cancellation after the selection.
• For those who require an entry visa to Italy, invitation letters will be provided after the selection to start the visa procedures.
• You will hear back regarding the selection results by around the 3rd week of March 2024.
Important notes about TdmT 2024
• There will be 25 spots selected jointly by CRIMEDIM and IFMSA.
• The selection will be based on motivation, experience, and plans to use the knowledge gained through the course. Gender and regional representation will also be considered.

It is my greatest pleasure to introduce, as the Programs Community Assistant, one of the most historical events of the Programs Team is starting again. Programs Week is inherited by the previous Programs Teams and we are eager to make it more impactful every single year. Now, let's answer some questions, shall we?
What is The Programs Week?
Programs Week is a biannual, week-long event aimed at capacitating our Members in terms of Activity Management and presenting the broad array of benefits linked to enrolling and reporting Activities to IFMSA. Our goal is to bring the knowledge about good practices in enrollment to every general member.
Also this year, we are eager to make our Programs Family bigger, we will be focusing more on PSDDs & VPAs of our NMOs. Programs Week will take place between the 27th of January and 3rd of February. We will be having sessions, open space discussions, campaigns, social media publications and events. Stay tuned to find out more about this memorable week!
This year's theme is ‘New year, new enrollments!’. With this motto, we will be creating a new year with a new approach to programs, a new culture where there is a Programs Family.

This SWG is initiated to create this action-based toolkit to help SCOPHeroes all around the world increase their EA efforts and achieve higher outcomes and opportunities.
Aims of the SWG:
