"True nobility is overlooking the faults of friends."
Al-Awza'i ( ุฑุญู
ู ุงููู) said,
ุงูุณูุงู
ุฉ ุนุดุฑุฉ ุฃุฌุฒุงุกุ ู
ููุง: ุชุณุนูุฉ ูู ุงูุชุบุงูู.
"Well-being consists of ten parts; nine of them are in overlooking faults."
This is similarly reported from Imam Uthman ibn Zaidah, eliciting Imam Ahmad to respond,

"Well-being consists of ten parts, all of them in overlooking faults."
Sufyan al-Thawri ( ุฑุญู

"Overlooking faults has always been the practice of the noble."

"Overlooking faults extinguishes much evil."
Al-Shafiโi ( ุฑุญู

ุชุบุงูู"
"The intelligent and wise person is the one who pretends not to notice."
The poet said:

"The fool is not the leader of his people, but the leader of his people is the one who pretends to be a fool."
Aktham ibn Saifi ( ุฑุญู

"Whoever is strict repels others, and whoever is lenient wins their affection. Nobility lies in overlooking faults."

"Generosity is good perception, and meanness is poor perception of what should be overlooked."
Salahuddin al-แนขafadฤซ said in his Lฤmiyah poem:

Strictness repels people, and leniency wins their affection."

I advise our Salafฤซ brothers in general not to be excessive in their disputes.
By Allah, most of these quarrels arise from nothing more than personal egos and the pursuit of leadership. So let them fear Allah concerning the youth and not drag them into these conflicts that give rise to nothing but personal loyalties. And Allah is the One whose help is sought.

[[Claiming Whatโs Not Yours Wonโt Make It Yours: Falsely Claiming Rights Has Grave Consequences]]
Abu Dharr reported from the Prophet (๏ทบ) that he said:

ููููุงุ ููููููุชูุจููููุฃู ู

ููู ุงููููุงุฑู.ยป
โWhoever lays claim to that which is not rightfully theirs is not of us, and let him take his seat in the Fire.โ
Muแธฅammad Nฤแนฃir al-Dฤซn al-Albฤnฤซ, แนขaแธฅฤซแธฅ Ibn Mฤjah, no. 1891. Also in: al-Bukhฤrฤซ, แนขaแธฅฤซแธฅ, no. 3508; Muslim, แนขaแธฅฤซแธฅ, no. 61.
Peopleโs rights are what Allahโin His mercy and justiceโhas precisely assigned. Yet how often do oppressors play the victim, feeling entitled to what was never theirs. This is the tragic result of making major life decisionsโlike business partnerships, marriage, divorce, and custodyโwithout knowledge of Islamic guidance.
Some act as though their emotions and assumptions dictate rights, as if Allah left such matters to personal opinion. When their baseless claims are met with diplomacy and compromise from the other party, they become greedierโlike a dog drinking saltwater, never quenched.
Worse still, false claimants often escalate: lying, slandering, and widening the conflictโrallying allies and stirring group-think warfare, all rooted in a compound ignorance of the very Sharฤซสฟah they ignore. Some even go as far as dragging Muslims into non-Muslim courts to seize what they have no right to, and when handed the spoils of injustice, they take them without shameโyet remain unsatisfied.
May Allah protect us from one anotherโs harm and the wickedness of the treacherous.

Al-แนฌabarฤnฤซ reported in al Kabฤซr and al-Bayhaqฤซ narrated in his Sunan from สฟAbd Allฤh ibn สฟAmr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah ๏ทบ said:
ยซูฑุชูููููุง ููุฐููู ูฑููู
ูุฐูุงุจูุญูยปุ ููุนูููู: ูฑููู
ูุญูุงุฑููุจู.
โBeware of these slaughterhouses.โ He meant by that: the elevated seats of gatherings (al-miแธฅrฤb).
[Al-Albฤnฤซ authenticated the narration in แนขaแธฅฤซแธฅ al-Jฤmiสฟ (no. 120) Silsilah Al-Daโฤซfah (1/641).]
1๏ธโฃ Al-Haythamฤซ stated:

โThat is, avoid seeking out the head positions in assemblies โ referring to competing over them.โ

Whoever seeks to evaluate the words of others is in the position of a judge; and a judge must rule with justice, not according to whims and desires. As Allah says: ๏ดพSo judge between people in truth and do not follow desire, lest it mislead you from the path of Allah๏ดฟ [แนขฤd: 26].

In a time of highly opinionated people where oftentimes the loudest and most outspoken person/people in the room are the wrongest, we must always be careful to not treat our opinions and narrow perspectives as facts, as though they descended upon us from the heavens. A refusal to admit that you donโt know what you donโt know is compounded ignorance and results in much discord.

And many disagreements may contain the truth not in either of the two opposing views, but in a third, unspoken one. Moreover, much discord is often built upon a weak premise; and once the flaw in that premise is exposed, the dispute itself vanishes.โ
