The foreign ministers of France, Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Poland, Germany, and the EU, following a meeting in Paris at security talks, declared their readiness to strengthen assistance to Ukraine.
The heads of state and the Foreign Ministry also demand Europe's participation in future negotiations to end the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine, and expect to discuss the way forward "together with American allies."
"Our common goals should be to ensure a position of strength for Ukraine. Ukraine and Europe should participate in any negotiations," the joint statement states.
The ministers emphasize that Ukraine must be provided with "strong" security guarantees.
"A just and sustainable peace in Ukraine is a necessary condition for strong Euro-Atlantic security. We recall that the security of the European continent is our shared responsibility. Therefore, we work together to strengthen our collective defense capabilities," the statement said.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that during security talks in Paris, Sybiga and his colleagues exchanged views on the interaction of European allies with the new US administration and strengthening Euro-Atlantic security.
Sybiga emphasized the need to adhere to the principles of "nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine" and "nothing about Europe without Europe."
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister emphasized that Kyiv is ready to play an important role in strengthening Euro-Atlantic security "thanks to its strong army, technologies, defense industry, and unique experience."

The sources also indicated that Trump’s envoy had been discussing the war in Ukraine with officials from Saudi Arabia and Qatar, both of which are seeking to mediate an end to Russia’s war against Ukraine.
The Kremlin refused to comment on the meeting. “I have no information on this topic for you,” said Putin’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov. The White House has also remained silent on the talks.
Trump secretly instructed Witkoff weeks ago to “expand his portfolio beyond the Middle East” and help facilitate negotiations with Russia aimed at ending the war in Ukraine. Trump reportedly trusts Witkoff due to their long-standing friendship, which dates back to the 1980s. The US President believes Witkoff possesses the diplomatic skills needed to advance peace talks.
Witkoff arrived in Moscow on February 11, landing at Vnukovo Airport around 10:20 am local time.

Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said Russia has never discussed and will never discuss the issue of exchanging its territories. He believes that any Ukrainian military units located on Russian territory will either be expelled or destroyed.

South Korea's Defense Ministry said North Korea has transferred about 200 long-range artillery systems to Russia and is likely to continue supplying weapons and troops to support the war in Ukraine. "North Korea has already provided about 11,000 troops, missiles, 200 long-range artillery systems, and a significant amount of ammunition. There is a possibility that North Korea will continue to send additional troops, weapons, and ammunition," the ministry told a parliamentary defense committee meeting (quoted by Yonhap ).
The South Korean Defense Ministry also noted that Pyongyang likely plans to ramp up weapons production in 2025, which will be the final year in a five-year plan to develop modern weapons. Among the priority areas are nuclear submarines, reconnaissance satellites, and solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs). In addition, the ministry admits that Russia, in exchange for military support, may transfer advanced technologies to the DPRK, in particular those related to nuclear submarines and atmospheric reentry systems for intercontinental missiles.

A majority of Europeans considers the US is a “necessary partner” rather than “an ally”, according to a poll published on Wednesday by the pan-European think tank European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), against the backdrop of friction between the EU and US over tariffs.
This view was shared by half of the respondents to the survey, and a majority of those questioned in countries traditionally close to the US, such as Denmark, Germany and Poland.
“This represents a big change for some countries that used to be strongly transatlantic,” Pawel Zerka, ECFR’s senior policy fellow, said, adding: “But this is understandable because if Donald Trump does no longer present the transatlantic alliance as a true alliance, but as something which needs to be transactional, then we simply accept it.”
According to the analyst, the situation should be regarded as an “opportunity” for Europeans to try to set up a “pragmatic approach to the US rather than an idealistic one”.
The poll was conducted in 11 EU countries - including Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Denmark, Estonia, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary – as well as Ukraine, Switzerland, and the UK.
