Due to security concerns, Germany banned Chinese mobile network components (from Huawei and ZTE). This comes late, as other countries have done that previously already. UK, Denmark, Sweden, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania have already instituted bans on Huawei and ZTE components. The United States has restricted the use of Huawei equipment since at least 2019. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/07/11/business/huawei-germany-ban.html @Ukraine_Report ~ 4rrasoe 🇮🇩❤️🇺🇦🔱

The families of Indian soldiers who were killed fighting with the Russian army in Ukraine have begun to receive payments "from Russia," BBC's Indian service reported on July 11, citing two families whose relatives were killed in Ukraine. Multiple cases of Indian men coming to Russia for work or tourism before being coerced to join the war against Ukraine and, in some cases, dying in battle have been reported. India's Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said in March it had identified 35 cases of Indian men being lured to fight for Moscow in Ukraine. At least two have been confirmed as killed in combat. Following Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Russia earlier in July, the Indian news outlet NDTV reported that Russia had agreed to release all Indians serving in its army and facilitate their return back to India. Russian deep-sea vehicle damaged after collision in Norwegian Sea, military intelligence says. The Russian modernized deep-sea vehicle AS-36 was damaged during tests in the Norwegian Sea, Ukraine's military intelligence (HUR) reported on July 12. According to the agency, the crew of the vehicle's carrier, the rescue ship of Russia's Northern Fleet Mikhail Rudnitsky, "lost control" while launching AS-36 on July 1. The ship's hull and the AS-36 collided, the agency said. "As a result of the incident, the Russian deep-sea vehicle sustained damage that does not allow it to continue testing." The AS-36 has reportedly been modernized at the shipyard in St. Petersburg since 2017. Russia is currently assessing the damage and time required to repair the vehicle. Russian officials have of course not commented on the incident. Average daily losses of ruZZia in Ukraine over the past two months have reached a maximum - British intelligence Russia has probably lost 70,000+ personnel (killed and wounded) in the last two months. "The increase in losses reflects the opening of a new front in the Kharkiv region", while maintaining the former intensity of offensive operations along other areas of the front but ruZZia isn't able to exploit any tactical successes due to lack of trained ruZZian soldiers and effective Ukrainian defense. In other words, throwing their Z-recruits away without getting anything for it. @Ukraine_Report

Australia promises record military aid for Ukraine as NATO calls out China as an 'enabler' of Russia's invasion. The Australian government is set to give Ukraine another $250 million in military support — its largest contribution to the war effort since Russia invaded. Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Richard Marles announced the package on the final day of the NATO summit in Washington DC. The event, which has been taking place against a backdrop of turbulence in American politics, has been largely focused on bolstering support for Ukraine. But Australia and other non-member partners from Asia-Pacific nations have sent delegations to strengthen ties with the alliance amid fears about Chinese aggression in the region. The Australian military package includes guided and air defence missiles, anti-tank weapons, ammunition, and a shipment of boots. The government says it brings the value of Australia's overall support to $1.3 billion, including $1.1 billion for Ukraine's military. "This will not be the last package that we announce," Mr Marles said. The Australian Defence Force has already been training Ukrainian army recruits under Operation Kudu in the UK. It will now also sign on as an "operational partner" to a new NATO command for Ukraine, and a group of Australian personnel who are already stationed in Europe will transfer across to the 700-person training and security initiative. Meanwhile Trump is still unable to grasp how NATO works as he calls the allies "to pay their bills." Read more @Ukraine_Report

Baltic Sea nations to jointly purchase naval mines to protect their territorial waters. Germany and eight other countries on the Baltic Sea aim to jointly procure naval mines, German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius said, as russia is taking an increasingly assertive stance in the Baltic Sea region. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Washington, Pistorius said russia had been challenging the borders in the Baltic Sea time and again. "Just recently we have seen how Russia tries to extend russian territorial waters outside Kaliningrad. We are all unmistakably clear that we will not allow such advances," he said. "To that end, we need the necessary capabilities for deterrence and defence, one of them being naval mines." The eight countries seeking to jointly procure naval mines with Germany are Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Norway, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Sweden. Source 🇪🇺@EU_Report @freerussia_report
