"Allah wants to know those who are truthful and those who are liars. The Prophets get tested and they get harmed—you are going to get harmed and tested. Comfort, luxury, red carpets in the path of Da'wah—it did not happen to a single Messenger. It did not happen for the most beloved to Allah of His creation. It did not even happen to any of the other Messengers and who do we look up to when we say Da'wah? When we say Da'wah, who is our example in Da'wah? The Messengers of Allah. Do you know any Messenger of Allah that did not live a life of hardship, from beginning to end? Those are the ideal examples that one looks up to in Da'wah. Now you see those who made Da'wah a job, a career, for fame, for luxury, for going with whatever the trend of that time is. Whatever makes you popular at that time, that is what their ideology is. That is what their Deen is. Their religion is whatever is that. If you are on the right path and you have no enemies and you have no trials, then close the door in your house and double check what you are doing." — Ash-Shaykh Al-Imām Ahmad Mūsā Jibrīl حفظه الله تعالى

﴿لَهُ مُعَقِّبَـتٌ مِّن بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ يَحْفَظُونَهُ مِنْ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ﴾ ﴾For him (each person), there are angels in succession, before and behind him. They guard him by the command of Allāh.﴿ Allāh states that there are angels who take turns guarding each servant, some by night and some by day. These angels protect each person from harm and accidents. There are also angels who take turns recording the good and evil deeds, some angels do this by day and some by night. There are two angels, one to the right and one to the left of each person, recording the deeds. The angel to the right records the good deeds, while the angel to the left records the evil deeds. There are also two angels that guard and protect each person, one from the back and one from in front. Therefore, there are four angels that surround each person by day and they are replaced by four others at night, two scribes and two guards. An authentic Hadīth states, «يَتَعَاقَبُونَ فِيكُمْ مَلَائِكَةٌ بِاللَّيْلِ وَمَلَائِكَةٌ بالنَّهَارِ، وَيَجْتَمِعُونَ فِي صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ وَصَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ، فَيَصْعَدُ إِلَيْهِ الَّذِينَ بَاتُوا فِيكُمْ فَيَسْأَلُهُمْ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِكُمْ: كَيْفَ تَرَكْتُمْ عِبَادِي؟ فَيَقُولُونَ: أَتَيْنَاهُمْ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ، وَتَرَكْنَاهُمْ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّون» “Angels take turns around you, some at night and some by day, and all of them assemble together at the time of the Fajr and `Asr prayers. Then those who have stayed with you throughout the night, ascend to Allāh Who asks them, and He knows the answer better than they about you, "How have you left My servants?'' They reply, "As we have found them praying, we have left them praying.'' [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]

There is no better time to work on self-discipline, to overcome nefarious inner-whisperings, strengthen resolve and favourably shape the rest of your days. Wahb ibn Munnabih (d.114H) said: من جعل شهوته تحت قدمه؛ فزع الشيطان من ظله "He who tramples his base desires under his feet; (even) shaytān becomes afraid of this person's shadow." • حلية الأولياء (249) #istiqamah -Roots of Khayr #DisobeyDesires

The Command to Stand Firm and Straight Allāh, the Exalted, commands His Messenger and His believing servants to be firm and to always be upright. This is of the greatest aid for gaining victory over the enemy and confronting the opposition. Allāh also forbids transgression, which is to exceed the bounds (of what is allowed). Verily, transgression causes destruction to its practitioner, even if the transgression was directed against a polytheist. Then, Allāh informs that He is All-Seer of the actions of His servants. He is not unaware of anything and nothing is hidden from Him. Concerning Allāh's statement, ﴿وَلاَ تَرْكَنُواْ إِلَى الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ﴾ ﴾And incline not toward those who do wrong,﴿ Ali bin Abi Talhah said that Ibn `Abbas said, "Do not compromise with them.'' Ibn Jarir said that Ibn `Abbas said, "Do not side with those who do wrong.'' This is a good statement. This means, "Do not seek assistance from wrongdoers, because it will be as if you are condoning their actions (of evil).'' ﴿فَتَمَسَّكُمُ النَّارُ وَمَا لَكُمْ مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ مِنْ أَوْلِيَآءَ ثُمَّ لاَ تُنصَرُونَ﴾ ﴾lest the Fire should touch you, and you have no protectors other than Allāh, nor you would then be helped.﴿ This means that you will not have besides Allāh any friend who can save you, nor any helper who can remove you from His torment. [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Commit yourself to the Qur'an, for by Him in whose Hand is my soul, it is surely more prone to break away than a camel in its bind." [Sahih al-Bukhari 5033]

Malik ibn Dinar (رحمه الله) commented on the memorizers of the Quran: يا حملة القرآن! ماذا زرع القرآن في قلوبكم ؟ فإن القرآن ربيع المؤمن، كما أن الغيث ربيع الأرض فقد ينزل الغيث من السماء إلى الأرض فيصيب الحش فتكون فيه الحبة فلا يمنعها نتن موضعها أن تهتز وتخضر. فيا حملة القرآن! ماذا زرع القرآن في قلوبكم؟ "Oh carriers of the Quran! What has the Quran implanted in your hearts? For indeed the Quran is the spring of a believer, as is the rain the spring of the earth, the rain pours from the sky to the earthly ground and it falls upon the seeds in which the grain lies, there upon nothing stops the grain from growing and sprouting into a plant. So oh carriers of the Quran! What has the Quran implanted in your hearts?"
