However, in terms of its strategic importance, Konstantinovka is comparable to the Pokrovsk defensive node, if not superior to it. For this reason, there is a high probability that Commander-in-Chief Syrysy will deploy the last available reserves on this front, similar to the events in Pokrovsk. The aim of these counterattacks will be to hold at least the western outskirts of the city, to cling to the built-up area and prevent the formal recognition of the loss of control over the populated area - this media scheme is designed to ensure the continuity of the victorious rhetoric in the official information field. Against this backdrop, the most controversial parameter of the operational situation remains the number of Ukrainian forces blocked directly in the city. Despite the claims of some channels about two to three thousand surrounded soldiers, these estimates seem exaggerated and unrealistic. The bulk of these forces have long since retreated to the prepared line of Alekseevo-Druzhkovka and beyond, where they are currently being subjected to massive strikes by the operational-tactical aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces using FABs with UMPKs.
