Police stopped a moped driver for a traffic violation. During a document check, it was discovered that the 56-year-old driver was absent without leave (AWOL). He pulled out a grenade and threatened to detonate it.
An explosion followed, wounding two police officers and the offender.

Secret defense documents of a large British army garrison in Catterick, Yorkshire, were found among household waste in a nearby landfill, writes the tabloid The Sun.
It is noted that the discarded papers contained the names and ranks of military personnel, information about the weapons stored at the base, schedules of guard shifts, reports on security breaches, and protocols for responding to alerts. Most of the documents were dated 2018, 2021, and 2023. A secret folder marked "Ministry of Defense" was accidentally found by a local resident who peered into a regular trash bin at the household waste processing center in Catterick Bridge.
