If KCAA has changed flight paths and aircraft are now flying lower over Rongai, then the question is no longer just about air traffic management. It becomes a planning and accountability issue too.
Because if authorities failed to protect Wilson Airport’s approach and departure corridors years ago and allowed buildings to mushroom where aviation safety zones should have been strictly controlled, it would be deeply unfair to now shift the burden onto Rongai residents and developers alone.
You cannot allow poor planning, weak enforcement and political impunity to create a problem, then suddenly tell wananchi in a different area that they must now live under height restrictions, noise, safety risks and reduced property rights because the state failed to act around Wilson.
If Rongai is now being pulled into Wilson’s safety geometry, then KCAA, KAA, county planners and past approvals all need scrutiny.
The public deserves to know: why were unsafe developments near Wilson tolerated in the first place, who approved them, and are ordinary property owners in Rongai now being asked to pay for institutional failure elsewhere?

Drama was momentarily witnessed as a quiet bus ride shattered in an instant when undercover detectives swarmed a Nairobi-bound coach at Taru, cornering a passenger with a million-shilling stash of heroin.
Acting on a razor-sharp tip-off, operatives from the Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) threw up a sudden dragnet along the Mombasa–Nairobi Highway. They flagged down the transit bus, turning a routine trip into a high-stakes tactical operation.
Officers boarded the vessel and moved methodically down the aisle, masks of calm hiding a major narcotics sting. What the passengers assumed was standard screening was actually a laser-focused hunt for a specific target.
The tension peaked when detectives stopped dead at Seat Number 29. Clutching a brown bag was 38-year-old Brian Tabu Owuor, his ordinary passenger facade about to rip wide open.
Inside the bag, hidden among everyday items, lay the ultimate prize. Detectives pulled out four heavy sachets packed with 300 grams of illicit heroin.
The seized white powder carries a staggering street value of Sh1 million. Alongside the drugs, police recovered Sh95,000 in cold cash, believed to be the raw proceeds of crime.
Owuor was slapped into handcuffs on the spot and hauled away into police custody. As he awaits arraignment, investigators are already tracing the cash and code to dismantle the wider syndicate.
