UPDATE: Kenya misses out on Sh16.1 billion in Safaricom dividends after Government stake sale was completed days before the August 4 shareholder register cutoff.
Elsewhere, Safaricom confirms Vodafone Kenya has completed acquisition of the Government's 15 percent stake through a block trade on the Nairobi Securities Exchange.

UPDATE: Dangote has opened talks with Tanzania on a major infrastructure push covering a port project, 40km concrete access road, special trade zone, 2,000MW coal-fired power plant, urea fertilizer project and transport links between Mtwara and Mbamba Bay.
The move extends Dangote Group’s East Africa expansion, alongside planned refinery investment in Kenya’s Lamu and a larger fertilizer complex in Ethiopia, as the group targets about USD 40B of African investments over the next five years.

According to the Standard, a bodyguard attached to Youth Affairs Principal Secretary Fikirini Jacobs has been linked to the shooting of a youth organiser in Kariokor, Nairobi.
