🔍 BBC Releases Documentary on Water Crisis Casuated in Rojava by Turkey BBC World Service found that Turkey's repeated air strikes on northern Syria have cut off access to electricity and water for more than a million people, creating a humanitarian crisis that may have violated international law. BBCEye's investigations have gathered details of more than a hundred attacks between 2019 and 2024 on oil fields, gas plants and power stations in the Kurdish region, an area already suffering from years of conflict and climate-induced drought. In 2019, after heavy fighting, the Turkish army took control of an area of Rojava along the border, including a major water station, disrupting supplies to drought-stricken communities. The BBC has gathered evidence showing how a series of attacks by Turkey in October 2023 and January 2024 struck key electrical installations, further disrupting the water supply to the water station and depriving much of the region of access to drinking water. Protests in Northern Kurdistan continue – Kurdish organizations call for Europe-wide demonstration Protests continued in several cities in Northern Kurdistan against the Turkish government's coup that deposed the elected co-mayors. A coup that Kurdish organizations see as a sign that the Turkish state has no serious interest in a peace process. Meanwhile, on November 7, the solidarity network “Freedom for Öcalan – A political solution to the Kurdish question” in Germany, along with other organizations, published a call for a Europe-wide demonstration for the freedom of Öcalan and a peace process. Their appeal states: "We are convinced that we have the opportunity right now to increase social pressure for a just peace in Kurdistan. [...] That is why we call on [...] to take part in the large demonstration on November 16 in Cologne."

Creating conditions for a solution: A perspective on the current situation, the meeting with Abdullah Öcalan, the action in Ankara and attacks on Rojava The AKP/MHP regime and its international backers allowed a meeting between Abdullah Öcalan and his nephew, DEM Party politician Ömer Öcalan, after three and a half years of complete isolation. Recent events, including statements from MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli regarding peace talks, should be viewed with caution, as they likely serve both to weaken internal opposition and to project a conciliatory image internationally. When closing reading the words of Bahçeli it gets clear that what the AKP-MHP regime is demanding is not peace, but surrender. The youth of Kobanê and Şehba sent greetings to the resistance of the youth of North Kurdistan (Bakur) The Revolutionary Youth Movement and the Young Women's Union of Euphrates Canton greeted the resistance of the youth of North Kurdistan with a march and declared that they will support the youth of North Kurdistan in all ways. During the march, the resistance of the youth of North Kurdistan was greeted: "We are with soul and spirit with the youth of North Kurdistan and say we are ready for whatever is asked of us." ⚡️ Breaking: Turkish Ministry of Interior puts 3 Kurdish municipalities under forced administration This morning, the Turkish Ministry of Interior declared the mayors of the municipalities of Elîh (Turkish: Batman), Merdin and Xelfeti removed from office. All three mayors are members of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM). Since the morning, the town halls have been surrounded by police and forced administrators have been appointed. The Ministry of the Interior announced that the three mayors had been sentenced to prison terms of 10 years, 6 years and 2 years respectively. They are accused of being members of a “terrorist organization” as they had called for protests against the IS attack on the Syrian city of Kobanê 10 years ago. At this moment, dozens of people are gathering in front of town halls to protest against these coups against elected mayors. In April, the people of Wan successfully resisted the forced administration by the AKP-MHP regime.

Thousands of people carried the Kobanê resistance fire through Zurich on November 1st to commemorate the liberation of Kobanê ten years ago. A coalition of more than thirty left-wing structures jointly called for this demonstration. Kobanê is a common point of reference, as was impressively demonstrated at the time when people from different movements went there to join the march. The caliphate was smashed and the revolutionary Rojava project was built and expanded piece by piece on the ruins. The latest attacks by the fascist Turkish state show that the struggle for and for Rojava continues. Surrounded by forces that want to destroy the revolutionary project and under constant threat from major powers that are doing their part to ensure that Rojava must constantly fight for its survival, this project is still standing strong today.
