Between June 1 and August 25, 2026, the state recorded a 51% rainfall deficit, which is nearly four times the national average of 13%. All 28 districts in Andhra Pradesh are rainfall-deficient, with 25 categorized under 'deficit' and 3 suffering under 'severe deficit' conditions.

#CurrentAffair #TGPSC Tenant Farmers Left Out of Support Systems – Telangana Study(Tenant Farmers’ Recognition Struggle Committee) What the Study Found A 2026 survey of 1,816 tenant farmers in 57 villages across 22 districts of Telangana. Tenants grow the crop but have no formal recognition, so they miss key government benefits. Main gaps: subsidised fertiliser, MSP procurement, disaster relief and crop loans. Highlighting these issues, the committee has urged the Telangana government to implement the 2011 Land Licensed Cultivators Act and formally recognise tenant farmers to ensure direct access to welfare and agricultural support systems. It demanded a uniform system for all schemes and crops, with eligibility based on the tenant cultivator cards.

Also helps firms going for strategic sale or closure to sell leftover assets. Significance 1)Turns unused CPSE land into public revenue. 2)Can support RINL, which has been under financial stress and asset-sale plans. 3)Brings city industrial land into the market for new use.
