Common issues that we all face while preparing ( kindly read it till the end ) 1.) Low morale due to poor score in mock tests or other reasons leading to inconsistency . 2.) Turmoil of thoughts , emotions (if i will be able to do it or not ) leading to inaction . 3.) FOMO of everything our friends are enjoying , putting a question : Are these sacrifices even worth it ? 4.) Unpredictability of UPSC exam itself  as was prelims this year resulting in demotivation and hopelessness . 5.) Mundane issues related to family , friends , relationships , etc. leading to inefficiency . These are the issues that each of us face as this exam takes a lot out of you on every front especially when you are for long in this journey . Probable Solutions for respective problems : 1.) Take mock tests as mock tests . Commit as many mistakes as you can in mock tests itself . Personal Experience : I scored in 60s in my first mock in mains and you can see my first mock interview on YouTube which was disastrous , to say the least . Takeaway : Learn from these mistakes and execute your learnings in finals . 2.) Keep introspecting and evaluating your strategy . Personal Experience : I was depressed after failing prelims twice . Meditation , yoga really rescued me and is still working . Takeaway : Take out only 15 mins (if not more) of your day and do some kind of meditation . 3.) If you are clear on the "Why" you are here in this journey . Then , keep hustling Personal Experience : Felt peer pressure as my friends were already placed in good jobs and were enjoying their lives . But Trust me , once you crack this exam , you will forget all the pain and suffering . Takeaway : Yes , All the sacrifices are worth it (but you should have Answer to Why ) 4.) Devise your sources , Make your Static part strong for all the stages . Focus on Csat . Personal Experience : Made my static strong after failing two prelims , Revised history , polity , etc. multiple times . Devoted less time to current affairs part Takeaway : Read , Revise . Repeat . 5.) Take them lightly . They are part and parcel of life . Keep in touch with your loved ones . They help in times of despair Personal Experience : Was in touch with some really close friends . Shared my troubles with them .
