12ನೇ ಶತಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಖೇಮರ ರಾಜವಂಶದ ಎರಡನೇ ಸೂರ್ಯವರ್ಮ ಅದನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದ. ವಿಷ್ಣುವಿಗಾಗಿ ಆತ ಈ ದೇಗುಲ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದ್ದ. ಕಾಲ ಕಳೆದಂತೆ ಅದು ಬೌದ್ಧ ಧರ್ಮದ ಕೇಂದ್ರವಾಗಿ ಪರಿವರ್ತನೆಗೊಂಡಿತು. ಈ ಪರಿವರ್ತನೆಯ ಛಾಯೆ ದೇಗುಲದ ಗೋಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಬೌದ್ಧ ಮತ್ತು ಹಿಂದೂ ನಂಬಿಕೆಗಳ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಚಿತ್ರಣಗಳು ದೇಗುಲದ ಗೋಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿತ್ರಿತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಖೇಮರ ವಂಶದ ಆರನೇ ಜಯವರ್ಮನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ ಕಂಡು ಬಂದಿತು.
🍁ಶಿಲ್ಪಕಲೆಯ ವೈಶಿಷ್ಟ್ಯತೆ
– ಮರಳುಗಲ್ಲಿನಿಂದ ಈ ಅದ್ಭುತ ದೇಗುಲವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
– ದೇಗುಲದ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 15 ಅಡಿ ಎತ್ತರದ ಗೋಡೆ.
– ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದೇಗುಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೇರು ಪರ್ವತವನ್ನು 5 ಕಮಲಗಳ ಆಕೃತಿ ಇದೆ.
– ಸೂರ್ಯೋದಯ ವೀಕ್ಷಣೆಗೂ ಇದು ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ
🍁ಕಾಂಬೋಡಿಯಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲಿ?
ಯುನೆಸ್ಕೋ ಪಾರಂಪರಿಕ ಪಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿರುವ ಈ ದೇಗುಲ, ಕಾಂಬೋಡಿಯಾದ ಉತ್ತರ ಭಾಗದ ಸೀಮ್ ರೀಪ್ ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ದೇಶದ ರಾಜಧಾನಿ ನಾಮ್ಫೆನ್ನಿಂದ ಸೀಮ್ ರೀಪ್ಗೆ 318 ಕಿಮೀ ದೂರ ಇದೆ. ಆಂಕರ್ವಾಟ್ಗೆ “ಯಶೋಧರಪುರ” ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರೂ ಇದೆ.

“ನೋಕೊರ್’ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಈ ಪದದ ಮೂಲ. ಖೇಮರ ರಾಜವಂಶದ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಖೇಮರ ಎಂದರೆ ರಾಜಧಾನಿ ಎಂಬರ್ಥವೂ ಇದೆ.
