ප්රතිභාපූර්ණ නිර්මාණවේදීන් ඇගයීමෙන් සාහිත්ය ක්ෂේත්රයෙහි නව ප්රබෝධයක් ඇති කිරීමටත්, රසඥතාවෙන් සහ සහකම්පනයෙන් යුක්ත සංස්කෘතික මිනිසෙකු ගොඩනැඟීමේ රජයේ අරමුණ සාක්ෂාත් කර ගැනීම උදෙසාත් මෙවැනි කාර්යය ඉතා වැදගත් වේ.
එසේම, සිංහල, දෙමළ හෝ ඉංග්රීසි මාධ්යයෙන් සාහිත්යකරණයේ නිරත වෙමින් මෙරට සාහිත්ය ක්ෂේත්රයට අනුපමේය සේවාවක් ඉටු කරන ලද නිර්මාණකරුවන් තිදෙනෙකුට ජීවිතයේ එක්වරක් පමණක් පිදෙන “සාහිත්යරත්න” ගෞරව සම්මාන පුද කිරීමට අවස්ථාවක් ලැබීම පිළිබඳවද සතුටු වෙමි.
මෙම උත්සවය සංවිධානයෙහිලා කැප වූ බුද්ධශාසන, ආගමික සහ සංස්කෘතික කටයුතු අමාත්යාංශය, සංස්කෘතික කටයුතු දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව, ශ්රී ලංකා කලා මණ්ඩලය සහ රාජ්ය සාහිත්ය අනුමණ්ඩලය ඇතුළු සියලු ආයතනවල කාර්ය මණ්ඩල වෙත මාගේ ස්තූතිය පිරිනමමි. මෙවර රාජ්ය සාහිත්ය සම්මානයෙන් පිදුම් ලද සියලුම නිර්මාණවේදීන්ට හෘදයාංගම සුබපැතුම් එක් කරමි.
இலங்கை இலக்கியத் துறையை வளப்படுத்த பங்களிப்பு வழங்கிய எழுத்தாளர்கள் அரச விருது வழங்கி கௌரவிக்கப்படும் அரச இலக்கிய விருது வழங்கும் விழாவில் இன்று (08) பிற்பகல் கொழும்பு பண்டாரநாயக்க சர்வதேச மாநாட்டு மண்டபத்தில் கலந்துகொண்டேன்.
திறமைமிக்க படைப்பாளிகளைப் பாராட்டுவதன் மூலம் இலக்கியத் துறையில் புதிய எழுச்சியினை ஏற்படுத்தவும், ரசனை மற்றும் ஒத்துணர்வுடன் கூடிய கலாசார மனிதனைக் கட்டியெழுப்பும் அரசாங்கத்தின் நோக்கத்தை அடைந்து கொள்வதற்கு இத்தகைய செயற்பாடுகள் மிக முக்கியமானவையாகும்.
மேலும், சிங்கள, தமிழ் அல்லது ஆங்கில ஊடகங்களில் இலக்கியப் பணியில் ஈடுபட்டு இந்நாட்டு இலக்கியத் துறைக்கு உன்னதமான சேவையாற்றிய மூன்று படைப்பாளிகளுக்கு வாழ்க்கையில் ஒருமுறை மட்டுமே வழங்கப்படுகின்ற "சாஹித்யரத்ன" கௌரவ விருதுகளை வழங்கக் கூடிய வாய்ப்புக் கிடைத்தமை குறித்தும் மகிழ்ச்சியடைகிறேன்.
இந்த விழாவை ஏற்பாடு செய்வதில் அர்ப்பணிப்புடன் செயற்பட்ட புத்தசாசன, சமய மற்றும் கலாசார அலுவல்கள் அமைச்சு, கலாசார அலுவல்கள் திணைக்களம், இலங்கை கலைக் கழகம் மற்றும் அரச இலக்கிய குழு உட்பட அனைத்து நிறுவனங்களின் ஊழியர்களுக்கும் எனது நன்றிகளைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். இம்முறை அரச இலக்கிய விருது வழங்கி கௌரவிக்கப்பட்ட அனைத்து படைப்பாளிகளுக்கும் எனது மனமார்ந்த வாழ்த்துகளைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன்.
I attended the State Literary Awards Ceremony held this afternoon (08) at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo, where writers and authors who have contributed significantly to the enrichment of Sri Lanka’s literary landscape were honoured with national awards.
Recognising and celebrating talented creative artists is vital to revitalising the literary sphere and advancing the Government’s vision of nurturing a culturally enriched society shaped by appreciation, sensitivity and empathy.
I am also pleased to have had the opportunity to honour three distinguished distinguished literary personalities who have made an exceptional contribution to Sri Lanka’s literary heritage through their work in Sinhala, Tamil or English, with the “Sahithyaratna” Lifetime Achievement Awards, a prestigious honour conferred only once in a recipient’s lifetime.
I extend my sincere appreciation to the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, the Department of Cultural Affairs, the Sri Lanka Arts Council, the State Literary Advisory Board and all other institutions and staff members who contributed to the successful organisation of this ceremony.

| 17 | I also commended the Sri Lanka Police for conducting the highest number of drug raids and arrests in the country over the past two years, as well as for bringing 74 criminals who had been hiding overseas back to Sri Lanka with the assistance of foreign governments. පසුගිය වසර දෙක තුළ මෙරට වැඩිම මත්ද්රව්ය වැටලීම් ප්රමාණය සහ අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීම් සිදු කිරීමත්, විදෙස්ගතව සැඟවී සිටින සන්නද්ධ අපරාධකරුවන් 74 දෙනෙකු ජාත්යන්තර රාජ්යයන්ගේ සහාය ඇතිව මෙරටට ගෙන ඒමත් ඇගයීමට ලක් කරමින්, මේ රට අපරාධ රාජ්යයක සිට සාමකාමී රාජ්යයක් දක්වා පරිවර්තනය කිරීමට අවශ්ය නීති සම්පාදනය සහ යටිතල පහසුකම් උපරිමයෙන් සලසා දීමට කටයුතු කිරීමටත්, අවශ්ය නම් ව්යවස්ථා සංශෝධන වුවද සිදු කිරීමටත් කිසිසේත් නොපැකිළෙන බවත් අවධාරණය කළෙමි.
ශ්රී ලංකා පොලීසිය ඉතාමත් ගෞරවාන්විත සේවාවක් බවට පරිවර්තනය කිරීම වෙනුවෙන් නිසි උසස්වීම් ක්රමවේදයක් සකස් කරන බවත්, ලබන වසරේ මැද වන විට අලුත් නිල ඇඳුමක් ලබා දීමට අපේක්ෂා කරන බවත්, අවදානම් දීමනාවක් ලබාදීම මෙන්ම අවශ්ය යටිතල පහසුකම් සංවර්ධනයට සහ අවශ්ය බඳවා ගැනීම් සිදු කිරීමටත් කටයුතු කරන බවත් මෙහිදී සඳහන් කළෙමි.
இலங்கை பொலிஸின் 160 ஆவது ஆண்டு நிறைவை முன்னிட்டு, இன்று (03) பிற்பகல் திம்பிரிகஸ்யாய பொலிஸ் களப் படைத் தலைமையகத்தில் நடைபெற்ற நிகழ்வில் கலந்துகொண்டேன்.
கடந்த 160 வருட காலப்பகுதியில் நாட்டின் பொதுமக்கள் அனர்த்தங்களை எதிர்நோக்கிய அனைத்து சந்தர்ப்பங்களிலும், இலங்கை பொலிஸ், பொதுமக்களுக்காகவும் இந்நாட்டின் அமைதி மற்றும் பாதுகாப்புக்காகவும் ஆற்றிய பொறுப்புமிக்க பங்களிப்பை இச்சந்தர்ப்பத்தில் பாராட்டினேன்.
பல்வேறு காலகட்டங்களில், பல்வேறு பணிகளுக்காக அர்ப்பணிப்புடன் செயற்பட்ட இலங்கை பொலிஸுக்கு, தற்போது வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ள முதன்மையான பொறுப்பு, போதைப்பொருள் வர்த்தகம் மற்றும் அதனுடன் தொடர்புடைய குற்றவியல் கும்பல்களைக் கட்டுப்படுத்தும் தேசியப் பொறுப்பாகும் என்று சுட்டிக்காட்டியதுடன், இதற்காக தொழில்சார் பொறுப்புக்கு அப்பால் ஒரு சமூகப் பொறுப்பாகக் கருதி அர்ப்பணிப்புடன் செயற்படுமாறு அனைவரையும் கேட்டுக்கொண்டேன்.
கடந்த இரண்டு ஆண்டுகளில், இந்நாட்டில் அதிகமான போதைப்பொருள் சுற்றிவளைப்புக்கள் மற்றும் கைதுகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டமை மற்றும் வெளிநாடுகளில் தலைமறைவாகியுள்ள ஆயுதக் குழுக்களுடன் தொடர்புடைய 74 குற்றவாளிகளை சர்வதேச நாடுகளின் உதவியுடன் இந்நாட்டிற்கு அழைத்து வந்தமையையும் பாராட்டியதுடன், இந்நாட்டை குற்றச் செயல்கள் நிறைந்த நாடு என்பதிலிருந்து ஒரு அமைதியான நாடாக மாற்றுவதற்குத் தேவையான சட்டங்களை இயற்றுவதற்கும் உட்கட்டமைப்பு வசதிகளை வழங்குவதற்கும் நடவடிக்கை எடுப்பதுடன், தேவைப்பட்டால் அரசியலமைப்புத் திருத்தங்களைச் செய்வதற்கும்கூட எப்போதுமே தயங்கப் போவதில்லை என்றும் வலியுறுத்தினேன்.
இலங்கை பொலிஸை மிகச் சிறந்த கௌரவத்துக்குரிய சேவையாக மாற்றியமைப்பதற்காக முறையான பதவி உயர்வு முறை உருவாக்கப்படும் என்றும், அடுத்த வருட நடுப்பகுதிக்குள் புதிய சீருடை வழங்க எதிர்பார்ப்பதாகவும், ஆபத்துக் கொடுப்பனவு வழங்குவதுடன் அவசியமான உட்கட்டமைப்பு வசதிகளை மேம்படுத்தவும் தேவையான ஆட்சேர்ப்புகளை மேற்கொள்ளவும் நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்படும் என்றும் இங்கு குறிப்பிட்டேன்.
I joined the 160th anniversary commemoration of the Sri Lanka Police at the Thimbirigasyaya Field Force Headquarters this afternoon (03).
I paid tribute to the vital role played by the Sri Lanka Police over the past 160 years, particularly in serving the public and maintaining public peace and security whenever the people of the country have faced disasters and other challenges.
I noted that the foremost responsibility currently entrusted to the Sri Lanka Police, which has dedicated itself to a range of duties across different eras, is to fulfil the national responsibility of combating the illicit drug menace and the criminal gangs associated with it. I called upon all police personnel to regard this not merely as a professional responsibility, but as a broader social responsibility, and to dedicate themselves accordingly. | 137 |

මෙරට ඛනිජ සම්පත ජාතික ආර්ථිකයේ වර්ධනයට සහ අපනයන ආදායම ඉහළ නංවා ගැනීමට විධිමත් ලෙස උපයෝගී කර ගැනීම සඳහා ගත යුතු ඉදිරි පියවර මෙන්ම ඛනිජ සම්පත් ගවේෂණය, කැණීම් සහ අගය එකතු කිරීමේ ක්රියාවලිය විධිමත් කිරීම පිළිබඳව මෙහිදී සාකච්ඡා විය.
විදේශීය සහ දේශීය ආයෝජන ආකර්ෂණය කර ගනිමින් ක්ෂේත්රය තුළ ආයෝජකයින්ට අවශ්ය පහසුකම් සැලසීම සහ මතුව ඇති ගැටලු කඩිනමින් නිරාකරණය කර ගැනීම පිළිබඳවද මෙහිදී පුළුල් ලෙස සාකච්ඡා කෙරුණු අතර නව ආයෝජන කැඳවා ගැනීමේදී ඉතා විනිවිදභාවයෙන් යුතුව කටයුතු කිරීමේ අවශ්යතාව සහ අදාළ සියලු ආයතන අතර මනා සම්බන්ධීකරණයක් පවත්වාගෙන යාමේ වැදගත්කම වැඩිදුරටත් අවධාරණය කළෙමි.
2026 ஆம் ஆண்டு தேசிய கனிமக் கொள்கையின் படி, இந்நாட்டின் கனிமத் தொழிற்துறையை மேம்படுத்தல் குறித்து, இலங்கை கனிம மணல் சங்கம் (SLMSA) மற்றும் புவிச்சரிதவியல் ஆய்வு மற்றும் சுரங்கங்கள் பணியகத்தின் அதிகாரிகளுடன் இன்று (31) பிற்பகல் ஜனாதிபதி அலுவலகத்தில் நடைபெற்ற கலந்துரையாடலில் பங்கேற்றேன்.
இந்நாட்டில் உள்ள கனிம வளங்களை தேசிய பொருளாதார வளர்ச்சிக்காகவும் ஏற்றுமதி வருமானத்தை அதிகரிப்பதற்கும் முறையான வழிகளில் பயன்படுத்துவதற்காக எடுக்கப்பட வேண்டிய அடுத்த கட்ட நடவடிக்கைகள் குறித்தும், கனிம வளங்களின் ஆராய்ச்சி, அகழ்வு மற்றும் பெறுமதி சேர்ப்பு செயல்முறைகளை முறைமைப்படுத்துவது குறித்தும் இங்கு கலந்துரையாடப்பட்டது.
வெளிநாட்டு மற்றும் உள்நாட்டு முதலீடுகளை ஈர்த்து, இத்துறை சார்ந்த முதலீட்டாளர்களுக்குத் தேவையான வசதிகளை வழங்குவது மற்றும் எழுந்துள்ள பிரச்சினைகளை உடனடியாகத் தீர்ப்பது குறித்தும் இங்கு விரிவாகக் கலந்துரையாடப்பட்டதுடன், புதிய முதலீடுகளை ஈர்க்கும் போது மிகத்துல்லியமான வெளிப்படைத்தன்மையுடன் செயற்பட வேண்டிய அவசியத்தையும், சம்பந்தப்பட்ட அனைத்து நிறுவனங்களுக்கும் இடையே சிறந்த ஒருங்கிணைப்பைப் பேணுவதன் முக்கியத்துவத்தையும் மேலும் வலியுறுத்தினேன்.
I met with representatives of the Sri Lanka Mineral Sands Association (SLMSA) and officials of the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau at the Presidential Secretariat this afternoon (31) to discuss the development of Sri Lanka’s mineral industry in line with the 2026 National Mineral Policy.
The discussion focused on the steps required to systematically harness the country’s mineral resources to contribute to national economic growth and increase export earnings, as well as on streamlining the processes involved in mineral exploration, extraction and value addition.
We also discussed extensively the need to attract both foreign and domestic investment to the sector, provide investors with the necessary facilities and support, and address emerging issues without delay. I further emphasised the importance of ensuring complete transparency when inviting new investments and maintaining effective coordination among all relevant institutions. | 235 |
