👼HOW MANY PEOPLE ADHERE TO THIS TEACHING?
We have previously examined the place that Mary holds within the Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches, and compared it to the Bible.
But how many people actually belong to these churches?
❤️ Roman Catholic Church: approximately 1.4 billion people
☦️ Orthodox churches: approximately 300 million people
This means that worldwide, approximately 1.7 billion people belong to church traditions in which Mary holds a special place, and in which she is venerated, invoked, and prayers are offered on her behalf.
This enormous number may also give one pause for thought.
Because does the number of people who believe something indicate that it is true?
Jesus said:
"Enter ye in at the straight gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: because straight is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."

An open question for everyone:
If a teaching is followed by hundreds of millions, or even billions, of people, how do we determine whether that teaching truly comes from God?
By the number of people who follow it?
By how old the tradition is?
By what a church teaches?
Or ultimately, by what we find in God's Word?

| 4 | "Jehova Jireh - The Lord our Provider"
Yesterday we looked into the meaning of "The Lord as our Shepherd".
A Shepherd provides his flock with every necessity - without a lack of anything.
So lets look into scripture and what it tells us about divine provision from the most high.
One of the probably most known verses is written down in Matthew 6.26 "Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?"
That is Jesus speaking. The topic is about serving two masters on the one God on the other the Mammon.
If we care to much about our physical needs by neglecting the all-inclusive provision of God, it can turn into idolatry very fast and yet subtle.
"ARE WE TRUSTING IN PROVISION EVEN IF WE DON'T SEE IT YET OR HAVE A DIFFERENT EXPECTATION OF HOW THE PROVISION SHOULD HAVE LOOKED LIKE?"
And one example from the old testament - one of my favorite verses which spoke into my life and individual situations, circunstances and battles - we read in Isaiah 41.10 "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."
This verse is FIRE brethren. 🔥
The second half of this verse is another foreshadowing of Christ the Messiah.
And the offered salvation is the pinnacle of the divine provision of the Lord our God.
"I will strengthen thee" - [2.Corinthians 12.9]
"I will help thee" - [Hebrews 13.6]
"I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness" - [Acts 2.34]
CONCLUSION
Not trusting in Gods provision is actually sin.
Well we all have been there and will also probably end up there again.
BUT(!) his mercies are new every day and he will not remember our shortcomings and iniquities.
Humble your hearts, settle your minds and give your soul some rest in the presence of our perfect provider.
He is perfect we aren't so perfection is something we cannot determine, in other words HIS perfect provision seems imperfect to us at times but we shall not be discouraged nor afraid of what is to come.
Cast your fear, anxiety, doubts and expectations onto HIM and you will experience the perfect provision of God, according to HIS will and HIS timing.
Father in heaven, source of everything what is good.
Thank you, that you provided us through a multitude of seasons. May they have been fruitful or barren, if it was a season of drought or overflowing wells.
Today we decide to renew our trust in you.
Even if we cannot see your provision or identify it as such.
As we pray we remember the poem "footprints in the sand", which encouraged multiple generations of christian believers already.
When don't see or feel your provision you even go one step further and not only provide something but yourself, to carry us through, storms, trials and hardship.
We admit, that our trust in you fades away at times but our faith remains and in the mighty name of Jesus, we cast every thought of doubt regarding your perfect provision away and hold it captive in you.
Help us to rebuild our trust in you, we humbly ask for something recognizable shifting in our hearts, minds and everyday circunstances.
Our souls long for being at peace with you, that also includes trust in your provision.
Lord, you promised in your word that you will help us, so help us to build trust on the solid foundation of your word.

Goodmorning!
When feelings and emotions receive more authority in your life than God's Word, deception has come and is ready to destroy what God has commanded:
To love no other gods before Him. Pride can make us idolise someone, ourselves, parts of ourselves, or something to such an extent that we turn it into a god and worship it, instead of the One true God that has created us and the world we live in, and on.
Scripture is clear on idolatry, and shows us in many verses to not go there, because to God they are abominations. These below are just three verses about idolatry.
Exodus 20:3–6:
"Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them".
Leviticus 26:1:
"Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God".
Leviticus 19:4:
"Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God".
And Isaiah 44:9 even says:
"They that make a graven image are all of them vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they are their own witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed".
Yet not all forms of idolatry concern statue-made-images. Even our ideas and thoughts we can idolise. Or our spiritual gifts. Or even our physical beauty. Vanity comes also in more forms that just doting on one's own beauty like Lucifer did. Because vanity stems from pride. And what does Scripture say about pride? It comes before destruction. Before the fall.
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

So if you yourself, or anyone you know and care about, has idolised something or someone even if it's they themselves, please put it on their hearts to release their pride and humble themselves before the Lord our God. The same goes for you, the one who reads this and instantly recognises him or herself in this written text.
As we can read and study in Luke 9:23, we will understand what God requests from us through His Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ:
"And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me."
Remember:
any form of pride will lead to destruction. Whether it is about your talents, your spiritual gifts, your sense of wanting to be right at all costs, your thoughts, your ideas and ideals, your accomplishments, your physical appearance, your earthly possessions, your job, and everything else that makes you "you" in this life. Set your affection on things above, not on things on earth (Colossians 3:2) and (take no thought for the morrow – Matthew 6:34) worry not about the things of tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself...

We are called to stay in the Word of God. The best way to do so, is to keep studying the Word. Abide in Him, and He shall abide in you. Follow Him, and He shall lift you up according to His will. When we follow Him, the Lord our God, we will be given His discernment through the Holy Spirit and thus we will find the right church that is biblically sound when we pray for one.
Just keep testing everything you come across to Scripture and test the spirits. Pray for eyes to see and your ears to hear, for the ability to separate the wheat from the tares, concerning the word of God and His truth. For His yoke is easy, and His burden light, as Jesus Christ told us Himself as we can read in Matthew 11:28-30 KJB – specifically in both verse 29 and verse 30 we can read and study this. Continue to study God's word well without leaning on your own understanding. If you are unsure of a certain Scripture's meaning, pray over it – I do this myself as well

We cannot convince people on our own. In fact, this often backfires. But the Scriptures do teach us what we can do: pray.
Pray for those who are spiritually blind, that God may open their eyes. Pray for those who hear His Word but do not understand it, that He may open their ears. Pray for those who have become lukewarm, that they may repent. And pray for those who do not yet know Christ, that they may find the way to the cross.
For it is written:
"And Jesus, looking at them, said to them: 'With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'”

"Confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed; the powerful prayer of a righteous person can accomplish much."
