| 2 |  +1In old England, children were considered ideal for cleaning chimneys.
Their small bodies could squeeze through narrow flues, and for generations they became an essential part of a brutal trade. These children were known as “climbing boys.”
Many began working at the age of seven, and some were even younger. They were usually children from desperately poor families, orphans, or children handed over by their own parents to master chimney sweeps. In exchange for food and a roof over their heads, they were condemned to a childhood of exhausting and dangerous labour.
They lived in cramped rooms and miserable conditions, often sleeping on the floor, covered in soot and ready to be sent out whenever their master demanded it.
There were no weekends and little rest. Their working day was measured not so much in hours as in the number of chimneys they were expected to clean.
Inside those narrow, dark flues, children risked burns, suffocation, serious injuries and sometimes death.
It is one of the darkest reminders of how easily poverty can turn childhood into labour — and human beings into tools.

He does not abandon her when she is hurting.
He makes his choice… and stays.
Not because he could not find another,
but because he does not want another.
In the world of wolves, loyalty is not a luxury. It is the foundation of everything.
When a wolf loves, he gives his all.
He stands by her, protects her, shares with her, and makes sacrifices.
He hunts, but never eats only for himself.
He howls, but he also listens.
He leads the way, but always comes back.
And when his mate stumbles, falls ill, or can no longer keep the pace she once did,
he never leaves her behind.
He slows his steps to match hers, cares for her, waits for her,
and defends her fiercely when necessary.
A wolf does not seek an easy life.
He seeks a life he can share.
And just as he is devoted to his mate,
he protects what is his:
his pack, his pups, everything he loves.
Not with words, but with actions.
Not with promises, but by being there.
That is why a wolf can endure snow, hunger, and danger…
and still love as deeply as he did on the very first day.
Because his love does not depend on the weather or the moment.
It comes from the heart.
In a world where so many change their “skin” without a second thought,
there are still wolves who choose to stay.
And truly stay.

Some with nothing but more exhaustion, others with an answer they have been searching for for years. Sometimes seven days change nothing at all, and sometimes a single afternoon draws a line between “before” and “after.”
We never know which meeting will be the last, which conversation might change someone’s path, or which ordinary “today” we will one day remember with the deepest longing. And perhaps that is exactly why time should not simply be saved. We should be careful about whom and what we give it to.
So for this new week, I wish you the wisdom to use well the one thing we can never get back.
Money can be earned again. Plans can be changed. Many mistakes can be put right.

| 18 |  The village of Perachora, in southern Greece, has a rich folkloric heritage. Margarita was born here and inherited her love for traditions from her mother, Marika. With the help of the entire community, Marika founded the Folklore Museum of Perachora. Many locals donated old belongings to bring this unique place to life and supported it in every way they could, with time, stories, and dedication. The result is a museum that beautifully reflects the soul of the village.
Among the museum’s most treasured pieces are the traditional dresses called Mountafissa. The one worn by Margarita was made 150 years ago for the wedding of her great-great-great-great-grandmother. We can spend our whole lives saying, “I am this way because I was hurt.”
Or we can say, “I was hurt, but I will not allow that hurt to decide what kind of person I become.”
And this is where freedom begins.
The past may explain a great deal. But it cannot endlessly excuse the choices we make.
At some point, we have to stop giving it power over our lives.
What was done to us is part of our story.
But who we become from here is our responsibility.
And no one can make that choice for us.
