Before we retire for the evening, as we say our evening prayers, let us offer prayers for the repose of the Christian souls, Catholic and Protestant alike, Innocents all, murdered by the Allied forces in Dresden in February 80 years ago. Hundreds of thousands of women and children, the old and inform, so many of whom sought shelter in the great churches of the city, were incinerated alive in a firebombing hellstorm. The ungodly war crime would foreshadow the nuns burned alive in the Allied bombing of Monte Cassino and the innumerable faithful Catholics vaporized in Japan by the Atom Bomb, and remind us that though our battle is against principalities and powers, the enemy will not hesitate to attack on every front and with every weapon available. Let us be as ruthless in our war on the Devil and on our sins as his servants are in dealing with the innocents in the path of their base ambitions. Let us labor as tirelessly for our incorruptible crown as they do for their corruptible crowns.

Why Does Suffering Exist If God Is Good and Love? This is a profound question many people struggle with. If God is all-good and all-loving, why is there so much suffering in the world? Here are some key insights from the Church, supported by Scripture: 1️⃣ Free Will – God created humanity with the freedom to choose, and for love to be real, it must be chosen freely. Unfortunately, sin—human choices that cause harm—entered the world, leading to suffering. Free will means we can choose good or evil, and with that choice comes the possibility of pain. Bible Verse: “I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Choose life…” (Deuteronomy 30:19) 2️⃣ The Mystery of Suffering – Suffering is often seen as a mystery that we can’t fully understand. The world is fallen, and suffering is a result of humanity’s rejection of God’s perfect plan. Yet, God allows suffering because through it, we can experience growth, spiritual maturity, and an opportunity to freely choose love. Bible Verse: “For we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28) 3️⃣ God’s Love and the Hope of Resurrection – Even in suffering, God’s love is constant. Through the suffering of Jesus, we see that God doesn’t remain distant but enters into our pain. Christ’s passion and resurrection offer the ultimate hope—life beyond suffering. God promises that, in the end, suffering is not the final word. Bible Verse: “He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief.” (Isaiah 53:3) 4️⃣ The Role of Faith – Faith isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about trusting in God’s goodness even when we can’t fully understand the reasons for suffering. We believe that, through God’s grace, He can bring good even from our suffering and that hope for eternal life gives us strength to endure. Bible Verse: “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7) In the end, suffering doesn’t negate God’s love or goodness. It’s part of a larger divine plan where, despite the pain, there’s always hope, redemption, and a promise of eternal life.

I still remember returning to my spiritual father to confess all I had said about Pope Francis, the way I had slandered and spoke ill of our holy father. He asked me "Pinesap, do you still want to be Catholic", and I said "With all my heart", and spoke the words of absolution. There was no greater feeling than being forgiven for speaking so horribly about Papa, and the moment the absolution was spoken, the sun crested over the mountains one last time, and I knew God was there. I vowed to be always faithful to Peter from that day forward.

Yesterday afternoon, around 5:00 PM Rome time, a rainbow appeared over Gemelli Hospital, where Pope Francis has been receiving treatment since February 14. 🙏 Keep Pope Francis in your prayers and share this sign of hope with others!

It doesn’t mean that we don’t protect our families or our communities. It was under a common Christian religion that we enjoyed the most unity we ever had, it was after we began to abandon it in the 60s that we started importing nonwhites. Our destruction correlates with our abandoning of Christ, not with our acceptance of Him

The Significance of "Burying the Alleluia" During this season of Septuagesima, we have to gain a clear knowledge of the miseries of our banishment, under pain of being left for ever in this tyrant Babylon. It was, therefore, necessary that we should be put on our guard against the allurements of our place of exile. It is with this view that the Church, taking pity on our blindness and our dangers, gives us this solemn warning. By taking from us our Alleluia, she virtually tells us that our lips must first be cleansed, before they again be permitted to utter this word of angels and saints; and that our hearts, defiled as they are by sin and attachment to earthly things, must be purified by repentance. She is going to put before our eyes the sad spectacle of the fall of our first parents, that dire event whence came all our woes, and our need of Redemption. This tender mother weeps over us, and would have us weep with her.

The Holy Father's health is now stable thanks to God and Our Lady. Let us continue to offer our prayers for his recovery, good health and abundant life.
