Instead, it reflects the reality that, over time, even heroes can be misunderstood, criticized, or vilified by society. As time passes, a hero may face challenges that lead to them being perceived as a villain ( might even become one ), whether due to their actions, public misunderstanding, or a deliberate sacrifice for the greater good. Dying a hero means leaving a positive legacy before the inevitable societal scrutiny or shifting perspectives tarnish their image. The quote stands for the meaning that human nature and time often find reasons to turn praise into blame, bringing even the best intentions in a negative light. That's my take @selfmadecoder

saw the movie and i now got the context .. By taking the fall for Harvey’s actions, Batman literally brings that quote to life. He ruins his own image just to keep Gotham’s hope and faith in goodness alive. The movie shows that being a hero isn’t all glory, it comes with a cost.
