Things I failed at this week. This week, emotionally, I broke. Mentally, I was exhausted, and honestly, I was down. And somewhere in between all of that, I realized I had been lying to myself. I kept telling myself, “I am strong,” but what if I became weak? Does that suddenly define my entire personality? What if I say what my mind has been screaming for me to say? Does that mean I am that person entirely? We sometimes take one moment, one reaction, one bad decision, one emotion, and turn it into a definition of who we are. But maybe we are much bigger than our worst moments. I have been breaking privately and showing up collected publicly. I cried and cried, and then when my team saw me, I tried to be energetic, to be that person who has the answer, the person who figured everything out, the person who can keep moving things forward. I showed up like I was okay, while privately I was trying to figure out how to be okay. And maybe that is something we don't talk about enough the difference between who you are in front of everyone and what you are actually carrying inside. We live with so many predefined things. A predefined life, a predefined perspective, a predefined idea of what success looks like, what strength looks like, what a successful person should be, and even how we are supposed to react when life doesn't go according to plan. We create these versions of ourselves and then become afraid of doing anything that doesn't fit the version we created yes and Izzy called it the The Delusion of a Pre-Defined Life. I remember being asked on a podcast by a software guy, “What do you want to be?” And my answer was simply, “I want to be human.” That was my entire goal. Because being human means I am allowed to fail. I am allowed to break. I am allowed to be poor. I am allowed to be confused. I am allowed to figure things out slowly. I am allowed to be wrong. I am allowed to change. I am allowed to be emotional. I am allowed to not have the answer. And eventually, I am allowed to be mortal. I never wanted to become a perfect version of myself. I just wanted to become more human. And then I started reading The Delulu We Live In, and somehow, I found so many answers in it. There is a section called “The Lie We Live By,” and honestly, it spoke to me in a way I didn't expect. Maybe it was written for a version of me that I hadn't even realized I was becoming. The more I read, the more I started questioning the stories I tell myself the things I believe I must be, the things I believe I cannot be, and the expectations I quietly put on myself just to feel like I am doing life correctly. Maybe the real delulu is not always believing something that isn't true. Sometimes it is convincing ourselves that we have to be a certain person all the time. That we have to be strong all the time. That we cannot break because people depend on us. That one failure means we are failures. That one weak moment means we are weak people. And I don't want to pretend anymore. I don't want to lie to myself just to make myself comfortable. I was too weak this week. I was exhausted. I was emotionally broken. And yes, I failed in ways I wish I hadn't. But that doesn't define the entire Luna. It is one week. One chapter. One version of me that was struggling. So, here is the look after my failure: maybe strength isn't pretending that you never break. Maybe strength is being honest enough to admit that you did. Maybe being human was the goal all along not to always have the answers, not to always be strong, not to always have everything figured out, but to experience all of it and still keep becoming. I was weak this week. But I am not a weak person. I broke, but I am not broken. And I am still Luna.

Energy is contagious. The more I work with people, the more I realize that the energy you bring can either keep a conversation alive or kill it BTW It doesn't matter whether it's on the phone, in person, or even through a simple message. Sometimes we're tired. Sometimes we're having a bad day. Sometimes we feel like we're falling apart. And that's human but when you want something to be done, I've learned something simple connect as human first before jumping into the purpose. Sometimes, just a simple ወየ ሰላም ነው? 😄 or እንዴት ነው Dear...I know you have other priorities... can completely change the energy of a conversation. Even when I'm following up with external people for updates, I don't always want to sound like “Hi, any update? Sometimes you just have to remind them that you're both humans first. Say hi. Ask how they are. Bring a little laughter before jumping into the “So... about that update ” part. Recently, I had to call someone for something very critical. Honestly, I was nervous because of their status, position, and the profile I had built in my mind about them. But I didn't jump straight into the serious conversation. I just said hi and tried to bring some energy into it. And somehow, everything changed. Now I can text or call, and they respond without giving me that cold energy back. The relationship became easier simply because the conversation started with human connection, not just a request. So this reminded me people respond to energy. You don't have to fake happiness when you're having a bad day. But sometimes, a little warmth, a smile or a small laugh can change the entire direction of a conversation. So yes... Energy is contagious. Before you ask for something, before you give feedback, before you start that difficult conversation ask yourself What energy am I bringing into this interaction?

Experience Syndrome. We talk a lot about Imposter Syndrome feeling like you don’t know enough but I think there is another feeling that comes with experience: Experience Syndrome. The more you experience, the more you realize how much you haven’t experienced yet. The more you learn, the more you discover things you didn’t even know existed. Experience doesn’t always make you feel like an expert. Sometimes, it makes you more curious. Because the more you know, the more you realize there is still a whole world left to explore.
