Personally, having served a four year apprenticeship program successfully, I know exactly how hard it can be, but also the lifelong rewards afterwards. Labor is now offering bonuses for each completed year of apprenticeship. While costly, this may help not only Aussies in these programs, but it may cut down on the push towards importing immigrants to fill the tradie jobs. "Aussies First", IMO. Young people and those wishing to reset careers, should seriously consider tradie apprenticeship programs.
