ባሕር ዳር ዩኒቨርሲቲ ጥበበ ግዮን ስፔሻላይዝድ ሆስፒታል በፕሮፌሰር ሐኖች ካሽታን( Professor Hanoch Kashtan) በተመራ ከእስራኤል ሐገር ከመጡ ከፍተኛ የቀዶ ሕክምና ባለሙያዎች ጋር በመተባበር ከሀምሌ 19- 23/2015 ዓ.ም በዘመናዊ መሳሪያ የታገዘ ከፍተኛ የቀዶ ሕክምና (Laparoscopic Surgery) አገልግሎት ሰጠ።
አገልግሎት ከተሰጠባቸው ዘርፎች መካከል የሐሞት ጠጠር ቀዶ ህክምና (Laparascopic cholecystectomy)፣ የጉረሮ ካንሰር እና ሌሎች የጉረሮ ህመሞች ቀዶ ህክምና (Esophageal disease and other related pathologies surgery)፣ የጨጓራ ካንሰር እና ሌሎች ተያያዥ የጤና ችግሮች ቀዶ ህክምና (Gastric cancer and other gastric pathologies surgery)፣ የቆሽት፣ የሐሞት ቱቦ እና የጣፊያ ቀዶ ህክምና (Hepatopancreaticobiliary surgery) እና የአንጀት ካንሰር እና ተያያዥ የጤና ችግሮች ቀዶ ህክምና (Colorectal and other related diseases surgery) ይገኙበታል::
በሂደቱም ለታካሚዎች የላቀ የሕክምና አገልግሎት ከመስጠት ባሻገር በሆስፒታሉ ከሚሰሩ ቋሚ የሕክምና ባለሙያዎች ጋር የልምድ ልውውጥ በማድረግ እየተሰጠ ባለው ጥራት ያለው የሕክምና አገልግሎት ላይ ጉልህ አስተዋጾ ይኖረዋል ተብሎ ይታመናል።

an Assistant Professor of Maternal Fetal Medicine, offers hands-on training to gynecologists at Tibebe Ghion Specialized Hospital.

(July 29, 2023, Bahir Dar): Dr. Kelli D. Barbour (MD MSc MA), a renowned fetal maternal medicine specialist at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital offered hands-on training to gynecologists at Tibebe Ghion Specialized Hospital from july 24 to 29,2023.
The training aimed at perfecting and honing the skills of the participants and providing them with advanced techniques and skills in fetal maternal medicine and high-risk pregnancy management.
The facilitator of the training, Dr. Ahmed Amdihun, Fetal Maternal Medicine specialist at Tibebe Ghion Specialized Hospital said that the skills and knowledge the participants gained from the training and the experience shared will help them provide better quality care to pregnant women and have a massive positive impact on the lives of expectant mothers and their unborn children.
The training ended with a fruiteful discussion with the college leadership on areas of future collaborations to further improve the fellowship program and fetomaternal service at Tibebe Ghion Specialized Hospital.

Our Ophthalmology Residents (2nd years) took the regional Part I (Basic Sciences related to Ophthalmology including Optics) exams given to trainees and practising ophthalmologists in Africa by College of Ophthalmology East Central and Southern Africa (COECSA) and all passed.
These regional exams are competency based and of highest standard, and hence a great success for the residency program, just 2 years old, and a big boost for more educational qualified work.
Slowly moving from national undergrsduate CoC to Regional Graduate level CoC.
