Dr. Barbour (MD MSc MA), an Assistant Professor of Maternal Fetal Medicine, offers hands-on training to gynecologists at Tibebe Ghion Specialized Hospital. ========================================================== (July 29, 2023, Bahir Dar):  Dr. Kelli D. Barbour (MD MSc MA), a renowned fetal maternal medicine specialist at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital offered hands-on training to gynecologists  at Tibebe Ghion Specialized Hospital from july 24 to 29,2023. The training aimed at perfecting and honing the skills of the participants and providing them with advanced techniques and skills in fetal maternal medicine and high-risk pregnancy management. The facilitator of the training, Dr. Ahmed Amdihun, Fetal Maternal Medicine specialist at Tibebe Ghion Specialized Hospital said that the skills and knowledge the participants gained from the training and the experience shared will help them provide better quality care to pregnant women and  have a massive positive impact on the lives of expectant mothers and their unborn children. Exciting News =========== Our Ophthalmology Residents (2nd years) took the regional Part I (Basic Sciences related to Ophthalmology including Optics) exams given to trainees and practising ophthalmologists in Africa by College of Ophthalmology East Central and Southern Africa (COECSA) and all passed. These regional exams are competency based and of highest standard, and hence a great success for the residency program, just 2 years old, and a big boost for more educational qualified work.
