It turns out that the imperialists are only in favour of a free market if that ‘freedom’ is rigged in their favour. The sight of the USA of all countries complaining about ’unfair competition’ has all the absurdity of a Monthy Python sketch. https://thecommunists.org/2024/05/20/news/janet-yellen-in-beijing-ignorant-economics/

⚓️ The communist flag unfurled at the newly restored Azovstal monument, marking the 2nd anniversary of the liberation of Mariupol. The West’s “heroes of Azovstal”, were in fact neoNazis that hid in the basement using civilians as human shields. Today their defeat was celebrated

Repost from Laura Ru
Following the tragic death of Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi and his entourage in a helicopter crash in northwestern Iran, the first vice president Mohammad Mokhber has taken charge as the interim president. Iranian Constitution states that the first vice president takes over temporarily in the event of the death or major illness of the incumbent president for a period of 50 days. Mohammad Mokhber has served as President Raeisi’s first deputy since 2021. Holding a PhD in international law, Mokhber was born in the city of Dezful in the southern province of Khuzestan in 1955. Due to Mokhber’s years of experience in top managerial roles, especially as the president of the Execution of Imam Khomeini's Order (EIKO), also known as Setad, he was an automatic choice as Raeisi’s executive deputy. Mokhber served as the head of Setad for nearly 14 years between 2007 and 2021. During this long period, his passion for social welfare, hard work and commitment to the revolutionary cause was something that made him a popular figure. Before Setad, he served as the chairman of the board at Sina Bank, as well as the governor of southern Iran’s Khuzestan province. In both roles, he excelled. Due to his work with Setad, he was placed on a sanctions list by the European Union in July 2010 and was taken off the list two years later. Since 2021, he has been tirelessly working to implement the social welfare schemes of the Raeisi government, working closely with people like the president himself. Mokhber is likely to be one of the candidates when the new elections are held after 50 days. (Source: PressTV) @LauraRuHK

Wow, I am truly astonished that the London Times has carried this commentary on western media coverage of the assassination attempt against Slovakian prime minister Robert Fico. As in the case of the recent piece on Hamas, this article was not written by a staff writer, but the fact that it was given a place in today’s edition speaks volumes. Do we think the Times is beginning to worry about the crisis of legitimacy that western corporate media face? I wonder if they’ve been losing subscribers in recent months ..?
Arguing that politicians who are pro-EU, anti-Russia and do not appeal to the public in their own country must be protected from bad words, while those who hold opposing views should not be surprised by attempts on their lives, is worse than hypocritical; it exposes a deeply anti-democratic impulse. It comes perilously close to justifying death threats on politicians who western elites consider hold the wrong views.

The sabre rattling towards China goes on. Probably most worrying is the way that western commentators don’t even feel the need to convince themselves they have a reason to launch a war, instead focusing on potential timelines. There doesn’t seem much doubt in the minds of the FT editors that a war with China is coming. Since we know that China doesn’t want war, that can only mean the west is determined on provoking one.
