📆 On September 27, 1942, during the #BattleOfStalingrad, the legendary defence of 'Pavlov’s House' commenced — the epic fierce fighting for a residential building near the right bank of the Volga River, which was heroically defended for almost two months by a group of Red Army soldiers led by Guards Sergeant Yakov Pavlov.
The battle for #PavlovHouse lasted 5️⃣8️⃣ days.
❗️ "Pavlov’s House" defenders set out a stronghold in an ordinary #Stalingrad residential building — turning the house into an impregnable fortress. The Red Army slodiers held back the enemy’s onslaught for very much longer than entire European nations resisted the Nazis in the early years of #WW2 — Poland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France — all were crushed by Hitler's war machine within a matter of (!) just weeks.
💬 As Marshal Vasily Chuikov, a Hero of the Battle of Stalingrad, later recalled:
Yakov Pavlov’s men killed considerably more Nazi soldiers than the defenders of Paris during Hitler's invasion
The stakes in the fighting for 'Pavlov’s House' were extremely high — the Red Army soldiers fought to the death for the entire Volga defensive bridgehead — preventing the enemy from crossing the river and establishing a foothold on its right bank. 👉 The capture of this key bridgehead would have enabled the Nazis to break through the defensive lines of our forces and cut off the Soviet Union’s vital wartime transport artery during the #GreatPatrioticWar.
The defence of 'Pavlov’s House' has gone down in world history as a symbol of the unrivaled courage, fearlessness and unbending will of the Soviet people — the Heroic generation of our Victorious Nation that defeated the Nazi Reich and defended the sovereignty and independence of our #Motherland.

In the autumn of 1942, amid fierce defensive battles for Stalingrad, a reconnaissance group led by Guards Sergeant Yakov Pavlov reached a four-storey residential building on Lenin Square in the city centre, near the right bank of the Volga, during the night of September 27.
The building seized by Pavlov’s men was, in fact, the forward defence point on the entire front. It was an ordinary residential building made of just brick and timber and was hardly suitable for establishing a stronghold capable of holding back the Nazi hordes.
The group of Sergeant Yakov Pavlov, which was being pushed back towards the river by the enemy, had to make a stand in that building, drawing Wehrmacht units advancing towards the Volga into the fighting and buying time to prepare the Red Army’s counteroffensive near Stalingrad.
Within just days, Pavlov’s men managed to equip the building for long-lasting defence. When the Germans launched their offensive, the 'Pavlov’s House' defenders — around just 30 (!) soldiers vs. hordes of well-equiped and armed Nazis — mounted a determined all-round defence, moving between the floors depending on the direction of the enemy attacks.
In response, the Germans unleashed the firepower of its artillery and tank armada on 'Pavlov’s House'. The enemy subjected the building to direct-fire bombardment from effectively all sides simultaneously.
It looked like Pavlov’s men were doomed.
🌟 Yet, despite the increasingly intense fire of the Nazi artillery, the defenders of the 'Pavlov's House took #NoStepBack!
They heroically held their positions for almost two months (!), steadfastly repelling endless enemy attacks and preventing the Germans from breaking through to the Volga.

After the Great Patriotic War, 'Pavlov’s House' was rebuilt. Today, this memorial serves as a symbol of the heroism of the defenders of Stalingrad.
🎖 The Heroes of 'Pavlov’s House' were duly honoured by their Motherland.
Yakov Pavlov was awarded the Star of #HeroOfTheSovietUnion, while his other soldiers who fought for the legendary House received the Orders of the Red Star, the Orders of the Patriotic War, 1st and 2nd Class, as well as the Medal “For the Defence of Stalingrad”.

We reproduce here the full text of the speech given by Dr Ranjeet Brar on 4 April 2026. As a result of this speech, Dr Brar was arrested for the third time since the start of the Gaza genocide. This time on charges of antisemitism.
His hospital employers simultaneously began a disciplinary proceeding and the General Medical Council (GMC) also opened a (second, vexatious) investigation into his fitness to practice on the grounds that his anti-zionist activism is tantamount to racism and is thus bringing the medical profession into disrepute.
Judge for yourselves whether this speech contains a shred of racism or prejudice – against jewish people (a religion, not a race) or anyone else.
The speech was given at a memorial event protesting the massacre of 168 children at a primary school in Minab during the first hours of the USA’s criminal, aggressive war against Iran. The memorial was held at the Palestine encampment opposite the US embassy in Nine Elms, London.
Dr Brar’s case against the introduction of the IHRA ‘working definition of antisemitism’ to the NHS is ongoing (support the costs for this case here).
Lawyers have filed a case with the high court requesting a judicial review and he remains suspended from his job, unable to return to work as a surgeon unless he accepts ‘conditions’ – under which he would be prevented from speaking against genocide and war in public, even though the hospital’s own investigation concluded that he has done nothing wrong!

| 9 |  This week Comrade Joti spoke with Garland Nixon about the stunning advance of the Yemeni national-liberation forces. They looked at the background to the previous ceasefire with Saudi Arabia and the various ways in which the reopening of the war front in Yemen has rebounded – on the imperialist camp in general and on the Saudi ruling elite in particular.
We can expect the crisis of the global capitalist economy to deepen rapidly as a result of what is now a double blockade (Hormuz and Bab al-Mandeb) on oil and other goods coming out of the Gulf. Compounded by the damage to the East-West pipeline, Saudi Arabia is now almost entirely unable to bring any of its oil to market, putting its entire economic and social fabric in dire straits.
As a result of the Ansar Allah-led government's determined blockade of Israeli shipping in solidarity with Gaza, many more people have understood that Saudi's actions in Yemen are in service of the imperialist/zionist aggressors. Equally, the Sanaa government is increasingly recognised as an integral part of the middle-eastern Axis of Resistance.
Many workers outside the region are also waking up to the fact that the entire post-WW1 dispensation in the middle east was about keeping the oil under the control of western corporations, with the various handpicked 'royal families' acting purely as well-paid frontmen, without any scope for sovereign decision-making.
The latest Yemeni advance has demonstrated the united strength of the resistance forces across west Asia, which are acting in an increasingly coordinated and unified way and dealing heavy blows to the imperialists. Ever since provoking Russia to become an active participant in their war in Ukraine, western strategists have repeatedly miscalculated their own abilities and repeatedly underestimated the strength and determination of their targets.
But a wounded beast is a dangerous beast. The US-led imperialist bloc is not going to give up because it has suffered reverses. Its crisis impels it to keep on raining death and destruction on populations all over the globe in the hopes that a war of attrition will ultimately favour monopoly capital. The cost in lives and livelihoods, the destruction of accumulated wealth and resources, the devastation of our environment ... all these are "worth it" in the calculus of the financier elites who are directing the drive into WW3.
And while the western bloc prefers to use proxy forces as its cannon fodder as far as possible, western nations are also putting measures in place to expand their own militaries – endlessly propagandising us about the 'imminent Russian threat' and creating conditions in which national service, conscription, joining the territorials/reserves etc all seem like the least worst option to a generation of young people that is finding that routes to meaningful work and education now come with an unaffordable price tag.
There is only one way to stop this juggernaut in its tracks: that is for the workers on the home front, in the heartlands of imperialism, to wake up, get organised and refuse to allow the war machine to function.

| 10 | PDP Joint Statement: Immediately Stop the Hormuz Deployment That Colludes with Imperialist Wars of Aggression!
Public opposition to the Hormuz deployment is intensifying. On September 17, even lawmakers from the ruling coalition publicly urged against the deployment during a meeting of the National Assembly Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee, and the NSC Standing Committee meeting, which was expected to address the Hormuz deployment issue, was postponed. On the 17th, Foreign Minister Cho Hyun, while saying that “no position has been decided,” revealed his true intentions by stating that the 'ROK' “is in a position to participate in international cooperation.” President Lee Jae-myung said on the 18th that there would be “no troop deployment,” but premised this on “getting involved in or intervening in the war.” The previous day, JTBC revealed, citing the French Foreign Ministry, that the 'ROK' was holding concrete discussions on participating in a multinational force led by France and other countries. Earlier, Lee Jae-myung, who mentioned a “substantial contribution” in April, expressed political support in May for a joint statement on a “Multinational Military Mission for the Strait of Hormuz” led by the UK and France. “International cooperation” that serves the US imperialist war of aggression is nothing more than another name for troop deployment.

1. That NHS England, NHS trusts, and pressure the Police, GMC and the Medical Practitioner Tribunal Service (MPTS) should all be forced into taking stronger action against pro-Palestine and anti-genocide doctors. The fact that disproportionate and indeed unlawful action has been taken against targeted doctors has been clearly demonstrated.
2. That the IHRA must be explicitly rolled out across the NHS. Streeting indicated his assent to this, and in September 2025 went further and announced that NHS England and the integrated care boards (ICBs) had been instructed to implement it and all NHS trusts asked to do likewise.
3. That for data monitoring purposes, Judaism should be recognised as an ethnicity as well as a religion. Again, Streeting agreed to this request.

| 14 | The repercussions of simultaneously degrading Saudi oil infrastructure and blockading both the Bab al-Mandeb and the strait of Hormuz cannot be overstated – either for the Saudi economy or for global oil supplies.
As the Anglo-American imperialist camp continues to ratchet up its middle-eastern war front in the hopes of reviving its waning hegemony and resetting its crisis-ridden economy, the price is already being felt by billions of workers around the world – and is set to rise far higher in the near future.

The reactionary deportation rally held on County Road on 13 June was presented by its organisers as a ‘grassroots’ movement speaking on behalf of ordinary working people of Walton.
In reality, it was another attempt to redirect working-class anger away from capitalism and towards other workers.
The reactionary mob that assembled was replete with St George’s flags, Union Jacks and christian imagery that appeared to be referencing the Crusades of the middle ages (more wars of elites over middle-eastern resources!) They chanted slogans like “Get them out” and hurled provocative abuse at the counter-demonstration that was assembled over the road.
Meanwhile, the opposition responded with chants of “Refugees welcome here” whilst waving Palestinian flags. While many were no doubt motivated by good intentions, the activities of this supposedly ‘progressive’ side were as self-defeating as those of the reactionaries.
Clearly, such empty sloganeering does nothing to explain the real reason for mass migration in the modern age. It does nothing to help anyone recognise why our own ruling class engages in endless economic and military warfare all over the world, or how that warfare devastates whole countries and leads to the mass displacement of targeted populations.
Screaming about (or at) migrants also does not bring us any closer to understanding the root causes of the housing shortages, disappearing public services, rising unemployment and increasing deprivation being suffered by the working class in Britain – of all ethnic backgrounds.
The whole spectacle was, in fact, a carefully curated pantomime that neither enlightened nor persuaded anyone, and had little to do with the everyday concerns of Walton’s residents.
