Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: “Whoever is shy from Allāh to sin, Allāh is shy from punishing him on the day he meets him.” [Ad-Da' Wad-Dawa]

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Love the one you love moderately, because you may hate them someday. And hate the one you hate moderately, because you may love them someday.” [جامع الترمذي ١٩٩٧، وصححه الألباني في صحيح الجامع ١٧٨]

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: “Be pleased with everything that Allah does with you. For indeed, He does not prevent you except to give you. He does not test you except to protect and save you. He does not give you ill health except to cure you. He does not give you death except to give life to you. So beware of not being pleased with Him even for the blink of an eye, such that you fall in His eye.” [Madārij as-Sālikīn, 2/208]

Shaykh Raslan حفظه الله said: "Women are sensitive. One wrong word and she'll run away from you. One right word and she'll come sit next to you. [Mu'asharah an-Nisaa]

It is reported that Umar ibn al-Khattāb رضي الله عنه said: “Whoever laughs excessively loses his dignity; whoever jokes excessively is taken lightly; whoever speaks excessively makes many mistakes; whoever makes many mistakes loses his modesty; whoever loses his modesty loses his piety; and whoever loses his piety, his heart dies.” [روضة العقلاء ونزهة الفضلاء، لابن حبان]

Imam al-Shafi'i رحمه الله said: “Nothing scratches your skin like your own fingernail; so take care of your own affairs yourself.” [ديوان الإمام الشافعي]

Shaykh Ibn Bāz رحمه الله said: “Men should be patient towards the misbehavior of women, and women should be patient regarding the mistakes, shortcomings and other deficiencies of their husbands. Both parties should cooperate in piety and righteousness.” [مجموع فتاوى ابن باز، ٣٠/٣٣٢]

Imam al-Shafi'i رحمه الله said: “Not everyone you love will love you, nor will everyone you are sincere with be sincere with you.” [ديوان الإمام الشافعي]

Imam al-Shafi'i رحمه الله said: “If someone only pretends to care about you, then leave him and do not grieve over him.” [ديوان الإمام الشافعي]

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: “Women (wives) are the cause of happiness for the heart; that is why they are also called the reason for the happiness of the soul.” [روضة المحبين، لابن القيم، ص ٢١٧]

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: “It is not a matter of you loving Allah; rather, the matter is that Allah loves you.” [مدارج السالكين، ٣/٣٩]

Shaykh Ibn Bāz رحمه الله said: “A woman cannot be forced to marry anyone whom she does not want to marry. Her permission must be sought.” [فتاوى المرأة]

It is said:
“A man can hide his hatred for a woman for forty years, but he cannot hide his love for her for a single day. And a woman can hide her love for a man for forty years, but she cannot hide her hatred for him for a single day.”
 [Al-Tamthil wal-Muhadarah, al-Tha'alibi]

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله: Four pillars of bad character: 1. Ignorance 2. Lust 3. Oppression 4. Anger [Madarīj as-Salikeen | Vol. 2 | Pg. 295]

Ibn Qudamah رحمه الله said: “A person who ruins himself at the expense of trying to fix others is a fool. He is like a person who has scorpions in his sleeves but focuses on driving flies away from others.” [The Inner Secrets of Worship, p. 29]

Imam al-Shafi'i رحمه الله said: “And from misery is that you love, and the one whom you love loves someone other than you, or that you want good for a person, while he wants harm for you.” [Diwan Imam al-Shafi'i, p. 51]

Ibn al-Jawzi رحمه الله:
“O you who has become cut off from the path of spiritual connection; will you not get back on track? Did you dedicate yourself to your Lord, or to everything else except Him?”
[Kitab Al-Lata'if fil-Wa'iz, p. 214]

Ibrahim an-Nakha'i رحمه الله said: “Get married, for the one who used to provide for her [whilst she was] in her house is the one who will provide for her and you in your house.” [Tarikh Ibn Mihriz, p. 105]

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: "Whoever knows himself well would keep himself busy reforming himself instead of talking about the faults of others. Whoever knows his Lord would keep himself busy trying to please Him instead of trying to please himself." [Al-Fawa'id, p. 90]

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: "Many ignorant people relied on the mercy of Allah, His pardon and His generosity, while neglecting His commands and prohibitions, and forgot that He is severe in punishment." [Ad-Da' wa Ad-Dawa', p. 41]
