As recent posting on social media is once again hyping up alleged atrocities of the Assad government (to obfuscate on the ongoing atrocities of the Joolani terrorist regime in Syria), let's revisit one of the very hyped places in 2016/17, Madaya, where media and social media claimed Assad was starving civilians. As it turned out, just like in Homs, in Aleppo districts, al-Waer (Homs), Douma and other towns in eastern Ghouta, etc, it was the terrorist factions who hoarded food—including aid sent or allowed in by the Assad government—& either didn't share it with the civilians they held as human shields, or sold it at massively inflated prices no one could afford. I went to each of these regions and spoke with civilians whose testimonies countered the claims of foreign media. Following are excerpts from an article I wrote in 2017 after going to both Madaya & al-Waer: "...During my visit in June, I met with Syria’s Minister of Reconciliation, Dr. Ali Haidar. Established in June 2012, the Ministry has successfully dialogued with tens of thousands of armed Syrians to enable and facilitate return to their civilian lives. Haidar explained to me that an agreement was reached at the end of 2015 that included Madaya, nearby Zabadani, and the Idlib villages Foua and Kafraya. ...According to Madaya’s mayor, the main armed factions that had been present were the terrorist groups of Ahrar al-Sham, al-Nusra and the FSA. I asked whether people had protested the presence of other militants. “Yes,” they said, “there were protests against the armed groups, and in support of the government, asking the government to come to Madaya."... To my question whether Western media was right, that the Syrian government had starved them, the four men answered ‘no’ in unison, talking over one another to make their point. [WATCH VIDEO HERE] “It was not the government that starved us, it was the armed groups,” a middle-aged man said. “We received aid convoys, but the armed groups would steal the supplies and monopolize them.” He said he had sold his car in order to buy overpriced food from Ahrar al-Sham and al-Qaeda: “They sold us a kilogram of rice for 100,000 Syrian pounds.” At current exchange rates, this came to around US$200. An older man nicknamed Abu Sharif said repeatedly that militants had hoarded food and extorted civilians, and added: “After the Syrian army entered, they found 50 storage units of food, also medicine. They are still uncovering storages.” According to this man, the militants also stole jewelry from women, and forced them to dress fully covered. “They called us ‘kuffars’ and said we weren’t real Muslims.” ...we stood near an apartment that had been occupied, one floor turned into a prison to hold locals until their fates (including execution) were decided in terrorists’ Sharia trials. Nestled behind the apartment, out of view, was a factory where terrorists manufactured mortars and rockets. Above that factory, one of the food storage caches was found after militants had left Madaya. Watch | Hidden factory where mortars and rockets were manufactured by terrorists Down the lane, another villa had also been used as a headquarters and prison until it was hit by Syrian army shelling, forcing the “rebels” to relocate. Another mass food storage was found in a neighboring building, the mayor said. Entering the relocated prison through a hole blown into the wall, I walked past a room containing a cooking stove and refrigerator, both booby-trapped by terrorists to kill whoever tried to move them. I had learned of this tactic in 2014 in the old city of Homs. Watch |Visit to the relocated prison ...Two rooms, metal doors welded onto the entrances, had been used as cells. In the middle of another room, a metal bed frame with a piece of cloth tethered at one end. They interrogated and tortured people here,” a former FSA militant said. An unwilling participant, he said he was forced by other militants to join, & that he was among the first to take the government-offered amnesty when peace was restored..."

Haidar explained to me that an agreement was reached at the end of 2015 that included Madaya, nearby Zabadani, and the Idlib villages Foua and Kafraya. That 2015 agreement saw over 450 people from the four areas evacuated by agencies, including the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). In a June 2014 interview, Minister Haidar told me that over 10,000 Syrians had reconciled and returned to their civilian lives. According to his office, as of June 2017, that number was over 85,000. ...In addition to occupying schools, “moderate rebels” occupied apartment buildings and the luxurious villas, turning some into prisons. Standing next one apartment, the men told me that it and buildings across the road were used by the occupiers to bomb and snipe the Madaya-Zabadani road below: “The civilians living below were like human shields for the terrorists. The army couldn’t shoot at the terrorists easily because they’d risk hitting the civilians.”I asked how life was in Madaya before 2011. “Madaya was a tourist’s paradise,” the mayor replied, smiling, eyes closed, remembering. “People who came from outside of Syria would come to Madaya,” to enjoy the environment of natural beauty. Further on among the hillside dwellings, we stood near an apartment that had been occupied, one floor turned into a prison to hold locals until their fates (including execution) were decided in terrorists’ Sharia trials. Nestled behind the apartment, out of view, was a factory where terrorists manufactured mortars and rockets. Above that factory, one of the food storage caches was found after militants had left Madaya. The mayor said, “Last time the army found a storage with more than 400 cartons of food.” Syrian authorities filled five trucks with medicine hoarded by the armed groups, he said. Walking gingerly over rubble, not yet cleared by engineers of any unexploded ordinance, we reached the bomb workshop, a single ground-level room. Equipment and materials for manufacturing explosives still lay scattered. I had learned of this tactic in 2014 in the old city of Homs. Watch |Visit to the relocated prison “They left booby-trapped explosives in the houses, all over, even behind paintings on the wall,” I was told. Similarly, in Maaloula in June 2016, I was told: “They rigged houses so that when someone opened the door, an electrical trigger with a small charge would detonate and explode a gas canister.” Two rooms, metal doors welded onto the entrances, had been used as cells. In the middle of another room, a metal bed frame with a piece of cloth tethered at one end. “They interrogated and tortured people here,” a former FSA militant said. An unwilling participant, he said he was forced by other militants to join, and that he was among the first to take the government-offered amnesty when peace was restored to Madaya in May 2017. In neighboring Buqayn, Ahrar al-Sham transformed the municipality building into a prison, fortified with sandbagging and bricks. The dank cells were sealed with the same solid metal doors. https://ingaza.wordpress.com/2017/10/08/syria-war-diary-order-returns-to-western-cities-civilians-recount-horrors-of-rebel-rule/

They spoke of Ukraine's deliberate targeting of medics & emergency workers, including (in a very Israeli-like manner) waiting until rescue personnel were at the site of a Ukrainian shelling and then shelling again. https://t.me/EvaKarene_Bartlett/18100 Ukraine has been targeting civilian passenger buses with drones and artillery for years, maiming or even slaughtering trapped passengers who are often burned alive. The below list is only a partial list of deliberate Ukrainian drone attacks on passenger buses since early June. https://t.me/EvaKarene_Bartlett/31375 April 2023, Donetsk: Heavy Ukrainian shelling of central Donetsk on April 28 killed 9 civilians, including an 8 year old girl, and injured at least 16 more. Most of the dead were burned alive when the minibus they were in was hit by a shell. https://t.me/EvaKarene_Bartlett/12225 September 2022, Gorlovka: I was in Gorlovka today to watch people in that hard-hit northern city cast their votes, and to speak to them about their opinions on the referendum. Echoes of yesterday: they want peace, an end to Ukraine's shelling of their city for over 8 years, they want to join Russia...(videos to follow when I have time to subtitle & upload). The city was being shelled before I arrived, but not heavily while there. Early this morning, however, a district of the city was shelled around 6 am, the shell landing near a city bus & exploding its windows, particularly the windshield in front of the driver's seat. Fortunately, he was luckier than the central Donetsk driver 2 days ago who was destroyed by the Ukrainian-fired shell, along with 5 other civilians in the area. https://t.me/EvaKarene_Bartlett/8960 September 2022, Donetsk: *Warning: the footage is not blurred and shows quite clearly Ukraine's terrorism of Donetsk today, killing six civilians in a very central area of the city, where there are no military targets, only Donetsk civilians. https://t.me/EvaKarene_Bartlett/8900

"The roughly 65,000 people of Nubl and Zahra’a villages, under siege from terrorist factions of the so-called FSA, al-Nusra, and affiliated factions for three and a half years, were on February 3, 2016, liberated from the choke-hold which strangled them. Zeinab, 25, and Mounthaher, 26, each have young children who suffered for want of food and basic elements of life, and who were traumatized by the terrorists’ bombing of the villages. Although corporate media, when deigning to mention the villages, usually focused on their predominately Shia composition, Sunnis also live in the villages. According to Zeinab, “Sectarianism wasn’t a problem before, we were brothers and sisters, we intermarried with neighbouring villages.”" * "This boy, 7, has painful face disfiguration from a terrorist-fired mortar which burned his face. Under siege at the time, the boy was only treated with basic medical care in a bare-bones hospital in Zahra’a. The boy is not originally from Nubl, but from Idlib, from which his grandfather fled when terrorists invaded. He is another poster child for the terrorism inflicted upon Syria." https://ingaza.wordpress.com/2016/09/22/aleppo-and-nearby-villages-ravaged-by-the-wests-moderate-terrorists-photo-essay/

I share this post from Basira Press because I agree with much of it, not every word or point, but much of it, especially the notes about how supposed human rights groups spew sectarian language in order to foster division, and to otherwise mislead an uninformed public: "How convenient that Zionist lies about Iran and Hezbollah in Syria are resurfacing - such as Human Rights Watch, led by Jewish liberal Ken Roth; Soros funded Amnesty; or White Helmets, founded by a British spy - while also attempting to drive a wedge between Iran and Palestine are helping the US empire and Jewish supremacists justify their war against Iran by weakening solidarity for Iran. ...When it comes to Syria, there are three camps that are wrong and illogical: 1) Assad was a pure saint and never did even an iota of wrong; 2) fake "both sides are equally bad" virtue signaling reductionism; and 3) oy vey, Assad gassed 6 gorillion Sunnis and turned them into lamp shades and soap. Assad was not the monster who committed atrocities akin to the alleged holocaust. There is zero credibility to human rights reports prepared by Jewish led NGOs who get their accounts from ISIS/Nusra held areas. It's not a "both sides are equally bad" reductionist fallacy either. ...If someone wants to honestly document history about Syria, then fine, as long as it doesn't aid the propaganda against the resistance axis and seek to divide people on Iran in order to reduce solidarity for Iran. It might be a worthwhile project to see which bad things Assad actually did vs totally made up atrocity propaganda (whose art was taught to them by their Zionist masters). Such a study should have zero reliance on HRW, Amnesty, White Helmets, and any group associated with western and Zionist backed mercenaries. Iran and Hezbollah entered to stamp out a Zionist backed insurgency, not to "kill 6 gorillion Sunnis for sport" These same people ignore the atrocities against Shias in Kafriya and Fua... Making sectarian strife one's political compass is a mental illness and serves the Zionist enemy. Martyr Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said that any Muslim who spreads sectarian strife is neither Sunni nor Shi'a. We should focus on the current "new Syria" which is acts as collaborationists with the Zionist regime and the US quite openly. Jolani is offering up Syria for sale to BlackRock and pushing usury based loans with Visa cards for all." * Skipping ahead to the unreliable sources mentioned, and I know that Basira only gave a few examples and is aware it is a far wider deviousness that those mentioned, I'll include a link to a compilation I did back in mid-2015, but basically note that across the board, Western-backed NGOs had bloody hands in Syria and are NOT reliable sources of information for Syria, not during the global war on the people and not now. The UN, also, is another source which reported extremely selectively on the terrorism of the West/Gulf "rebels" in Syria and inflated war propaganda in support of regime change. Regarding Foua and Kafraya, while I never got to visit those two villages in my vast travels around Syria, I did write about them and the unjust suffering they were subject to for years, besieged and starved by terrorists who sniped to kill civilians, including children, every chance they could. Same with Nubl & Zahra'a, which I did visit in 2016 (Two predominantly Shia villages just north of Aleppo which were under a devastating 3.5 year siege by terrorist factions until the SAA and allies lifted it in February 2016. Residents endured prolonged periods of hunger, were targeted by terrorists’ bombings, and for want of medicines, medical treatment, and sanitary conditions suffered diseases that could otherwise have been treated.). Below are a selection of my articles from/on Syria, highlighting the selective reporting, absent reporting, outright lying, sectarian language of various Western NGOs, the UN, and of course Western corporate media: -The Terrorism We Support in Syria: A First-hand Account of the Use of Mortars against Civilians, September 2014 -MOSAIC SYRIA: Another Actor in the Anti-Syria War Propaganda Theatre, October 2014 -Untold Suffering in Foua and Kafraya: Two Northwestern Syrian Villages Under Siege and Assault by NATO’s Terrorists, August 2015 -Untold Suffering in Foua and Kafarya-Part 2 -Deconstructing the NATO Narrative on Syria, October 2015 (including on sectarianism) -Not-Tweetworthy: UN selectively tweeting, ignores Foua, Kafarya, Nubl, Zahra’a, December 2015 -Where is the West’s compassion & condemnation following terror attacks in Middle East? How convenient that Zionist lies about Iran and Hezbollah in Syria are resurfacing - such as Human Rights Watch, led by Jewish liberal Ken Roth; Soros funded Amnesty; or White Helmets, founded by a British spy - while also attempting to drive a wedge between Iran and Palestine are helping the US empire and Jewish supremacists justify their war against Iran by weakening solidarity for Iran. It's not possible to oppose Jewish supremacy unless it is opposing its lies across the board, not just when it is convenient and doesn't upset anyone's stone minded sectarian stubbornness. When it comes to Syria, there are three camps that are wrong and illogical: 1) Assad was a pure saint and never did even an iota of wrong; 2) fake "both sides are equally bad" virtue signaling reductionism; and 3) oy vey, Assad gassed 6 gorillion Sunnis and turned them into lamp shades and soap. Assad was not the monster who committed atrocities akin to the alleged holocaust. There is zero credibility to human rights reports prepared by Jewish led NGOs who get their accounts from ISIS/Nusra held areas. It's not a "both sides are equally bad" reductionist fallacy either. However, in hindsight, it is obvious that he and the Syrian system were the weakest link in the resistance axis. The other resistance factions tried to push for reforms prior to 2011 in order to avoid giving Mossad and CIA a pretext for Balkanization schemes. However, once the fire started and international money and weapons flowed from intelligence agencies of the west and Zionist regime into Syria, it's not wise to point out the bad color of the walls or curtains while the house is burning down. The fire needed to be contained and cancer of foreign funded takfiri mercenaries removed first. At that time, Iran wasn't strong enough and the people of the region and world weren't awake enough to support a war on the Zionist entity and US bases in the region. Iran and the resistance would have collapsed prematurely and the region spun into darkness, with a fake Mossad/CIA "caliphate" who represents every caricature of Islam put forward by the Jewish owned press (both news media and Hollywood). A fake "Islam" of beheading, sex slavery of women, and other Satanic barbarism that mimics the bloodlust of the Hebrew Bible. Qassem Soleimani personally stopped this Zionist plot and got assassinated as revenge. However, this plot was revived with Jolani - a plot celebrated by Netanyahu and Trump. Foreign takfiri terrorists sporting ISIS patches were seen on many videos in the "new Syria" - and some of these "former" ISIS and Nusra members became ministers in the government, with a suit and tie to replace the serrated blade they used to weild to behead people. Women are still being kidnapped and sold into slavery, and minorities are still being massacred. Promoting disunity and turning people against Iran at this point in time makes one a servant of Jewish supremacy and a party to the blood of the innocent killed in the aggression on Iran and other resistance front countries. If someone wants to honestly document history about Syria, then fine, as long as it doesn't aid the propaganda against the resistance axis and seek to divide people on Iran in order to reduce solidarity for Iran. Iran and Hezbollah entered to stamp out a Zionist backed insurgency, not to "kill 6 gorillion Sunnis for sport" These same people ignore the atrocities against Shias in Kafriya and Fua, including bombing buses full of children during an agreed planned displacement of Shi'a locals out of the area. The foreign backed terrorists lured the kids out of the buses with snacks and sweets before the bombs went off. Jolani is offering up Syria for sale to BlackRock and pushing usury based loans with Visa cards for all. @BasiraPress

A little bit of karma, given that Israel deliberately created a sewage nightmare for Palestinians in Gaza starting at leadt 2 decades ago and continuing to present: "Israel's destruction of Gaza's water and sewage infrastructure has backfired into a domestic water emergency, with five of Israel's six desalination plants supplying over 80 percent of Israeli drinking water shut down after an enormous algal bloom choked the coastline, Haaretz reported on 3 September. Scientists cite two aggravating factors behind the algae – elevated sea temperatures and nutrient loads from Gaza’s sewage – which has poured untreated into the Mediterranean since Israeli bombardment deliberately destroyed the besieged enclave's sanitation network. The algae originated as microalgae in the Nile Delta and traveled east on sea currents, according to the satellite imagery firm Satalize, which recorded dense chlorophyll readings in the water as far north as Tel Aviv and lighter traces up to Caesarea. With flow through the national supply lines weakening, the Israel Water Authority ordered local councils to curb consumption for farming, gardening, and other public use, while the Israeli government completely shut off external water supplies to Gaza. The self-inflicted blowback comes after nearly three years of Israeli bombardment left close to 90 percent of Gaza's water and sanitation infrastructure damaged or destroyed throughout the genocide in the strip, including desalination units, wells, reservoirs, and distribution networks. All six of the besieged enclave's wastewater treatment plants have been knocked out of service, along with the overwhelming majority of sewage pumping stations during Israel’s genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. Roughly 40,000 cubic meters of untreated waste now empties into the sea every day, with a further 15,000 cubic meters draining into the ground through cesspits and broken lines. The collapse has poisoned Gaza's coastal aquifer and driven cholera and other water-borne diseases through a population already facing starvation and lacking proper healthcare due to Israel's genocide, with the rainy season set to deepen the contamination. Israeli blockade on fuel, spare parts, and equipment classed as dual-use has strangled every attempt to repair the ruined facilities. Israel's targeting of Gaza's water and sewage systems was a deliberate campaign to manufacture the conditions for the spread of disease throughout the enclave, and render life unbearable for its almost 2 million residents by stripping them of the basic requirements for survival." https://thecradle.co/articles/israels-destruction-of-gazas-sewage-system-triggers-algal-bloom-shutting-down-israeli-desalination-plants

According to Helmer himself, in his own 2022 post, he is exiled from Russia. So why do podcasters, including clickbait ones, present him as being based in Moscow, or Russia at all? John Helmer: "In my case I’ve been driven into exile more than once. The current one is lasting the longest. This is the one from Moscow, which began with my expulsion by the Foreign Ministry on September 28, 2010." https://johnhelmer.net/exile/#more-48049
