πŸ“’ New Attendance Policy for 2026/27 Please make sure you are familiar with the new Attendance Policy before the semester begins. Key changes: πŸ“š Institutional attendance remains the same – you are expected to attend all scheduled classes. ⚠️ Classroom attendance is now calculated based on the total hours missed across all modules. β€’ Missing 37 hours in one semester or 74 hours in an academic year may result in suspension. Example: If your module has 2-hour seminars and 2-hour workshops, missing one seminar and one workshop means you have accumulated 4 hours of non-attendance. β€’ Students with trailing/retrieving modules receive an additional 10 hours per 20 credits added to their attendance threshold. If you miss classes for a valid reason, submit a Non-Attendance Explanation Form with supporting evidence. Please note that reasons such as travel plans or external events are generally not accepted. πŸ“„ You can find the full policy on the Intranet -> WIUT Policies -> Attendance Policy 2026 (NEW). I strongly encourage everyone to read the policy carefully to understand your rights and responsibilities and avoid attendance-related issues. Best regards, SU Education & Welfare Executive

Dear Students, please note the following important dates for the 2026/2027 Academic Year: πŸ“… 2 September – Induction Week begins for CIFS students, Mentors, and Facilitators. πŸ“š 7 September – Teaching Week 1 begins for all students. You may notice that the academic year starts earlier than in previous years. This is because WIUT has introduced two dedicated teaching-free weeks for mid-term assessments: πŸ—“οΈ Semester 1: 19–23 October πŸ—“οΈ Semester 2: 22–26 February During these weeks: βœ”οΈ If your module has an in-class mid-term assessment, it will be scheduled during that week. βœ”οΈ If your module does not have an in-class mid-term, you will not have regular classes and can use the week to work on coursework, reports, independent study, or prepare for upcoming assessments. We hope this helps you plan your semester more effectively. Wishing everyone a successful academic year! πŸŽ“ Best regards, SU Education & Welfare Executive
