📢 New Attendance Policy for 2026/27
Please make sure you are familiar with the new Attendance Policy before the semester begins.
Key changes:
📚 Institutional attendance remains the same – you are expected to attend all scheduled classes.
⚠️ Classroom attendance is now calculated based on the total hours missed across all modules.
• Missing 37 hours in one semester or 74 hours in an academic year may result in suspension.
Example: If your module has 2-hour seminars and 2-hour workshops, missing one seminar and one workshop means you have accumulated 4 hours of non-attendance.
• Students with trailing/retrieving modules receive an additional 10 hours per 20 credits added to their attendance threshold.
If you miss classes for a valid reason, submit a Non-Attendance Explanation Form with supporting evidence. Please note that reasons such as travel plans or external events are generally not accepted.
📄 You can find the full policy on the Intranet -> WIUT Policies -> Attendance Policy 2026 (NEW).
I strongly encourage everyone to read the policy carefully to understand your rights and responsibilities and avoid attendance-related issues.
Best regards,
SU Education & Welfare Executive
