‎Upholding Human Dignity at the World’s Edges ‎ ‎Our MUN simulation on the "Legitimacy of Strict Border Enforcement Measures in Response to the Global Refugee Crisis" brought a high level focus to one of the most complex humanitarian challenges of our time. Organized in collaboration with UNICEF U-Report, this session empowered delegates to navigate the delicate tension between national sovereignty and the fundamental rights of displaced persons. ‎ ‎ ‎ Throughout the intense Saturday session for Hawassa University students, participants stepped into the roles of global policymakers to scrutinize the ethics of modern border security. ‎ This May, the UNA-ET Hawassa,Chapter, together with Hawassa University College of Medicine & Health Sciences Student Union and Ethiopia Health Professional Students Association volunteers, successfully hosted a 2 day UNICEF U-Report referral campaign at Referral campus. ‎ ‎ The energy was incredible From awareness creation to student engagement, the campaign brought students together to learn, connect, and raise their voices through U-Report. 💙📢 ‎ ‎ More than 1,000 students got the chance to know about U-Report, and many officially registered to become part of the movement ‎ ‎ This was more than just a campaign it was youth empowerment, collaboration, and action in motion. On May 16th, the SDGs team visited Comboni Secondary School as invited guests. the Comboni Environmental Club organized a project competition, and the SDGs team had the honor of serving as judges. The students presented outstanding research projects that directly align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in areas such as green urban development, food security, and waste management. Their creativity, innovation, and commitment clearly demonstrated that youth and adolescents are not a burden to society, but key actors in sustainable development and positive social change.
