There is an important issue I need to clarify regarding payment. Based on my experience working with students from Russia (around 10 so far), I do not accept cryptocurrency payments. Even though crypto may be common in Russia, I’m not familiar with it and I don’t use it for transactions. Please use Wise or Remitly instead. Alternatively, if you have a trusted family member or contact in the USA, they may also transfer the payment through standard methods on your behalf. Once the payment is completed, kindly send me the confirmation so we can proceed. Thank you.

For the newbie of the TOEFL and if you are preparing for the test, here are a few starting points. Official ETS Stuff You should probably start your journey by exploring free stuff from ETS. Practice Tests and Guides Free Practice Tests 1 and 2. Scroll past all the paid options and you'll find two complete practice tests. They are free, but not scored. There is also an "Interactive Sample," but it repeats stuff from one of the practice tests. TOEFL Teacher Resources. There are five free practice tests for teachers, but could be useful for students as well. They are provided via PDF files. The new "Official Guide to the TOEFL" will probably be published at the end of September. It won't be free, but maybe you can get a copy at your local library. To everyone whose messages I did not see or reply to on time, I sincerely apologize. Please don't take it personally. I receive many messages across different platforms and unfortunately I cannot always keep up with all of them. To be completely honest, I usually prioritize students who have enrolled in and paid for my TOEFL online sessions, since they rely on me for regular guidance and support. That said, I truly appreciate every message I receive and I am grateful to everyone who has reached out. If I missed your message or responded late, it was never intentional. Thank you for your understanding and congratulations to all of you who have achieved your TOEFL goals. I wish you continued success in your academic and professional journeys. Metages Mesfin

To my fellow TOEFL test takers, I recently took the TOEFL exam and came away with a total score of 110 out of 120, corresponding to a C1 level. My section scores were as follows: Reading 6/6, Listening 6/6, Speaking 5/6, and Writing 4/6. I’d like to share my experience in all honesty, because the real exam felt quite different from the preparation materials I had relied on. Reading, which I usually consider my strongest skill, turned out to be more demanding than expected. The passages were not necessarily longer, but the questions were cleverly designed and required close attention to subtle details. Despite having only about four hours of sleep the night before, I managed to stay focused enough to complete the section ten minutes early. Listening went very smoothly. There were no surprises, and the content felt familiar and manageable throughout. I was able to follow the recordings without difficulty and maintain steady concentration. Writing, however, was the most unexpected part of the test. The write an email task presented a scenario involving a student experiencing a mental health crisis, which I had never encountered in any practice material. It required quick thinking and emotional sensitivity. The academic discussion, on the other hand, was more predictable, and I approached it without relying on memorized templates, focusing instead on clear and direct responses. Speaking was a mixed experience for me. The listen and repeat section contained only a single medium-length sentence, but fatigue affected my performance and I could not reproduce it fully. In the interview section, my first response was disorganized and lacked clarity, though I gradually recovered in the following questions. One challenge I noticed was that the prompts often asked for personal opinions without presenting contrasting viewpoints, which made it difficult to structure a full and balanced 45 second response. For context, my English background is fairly informal: I studied it in high school, use it occasionally with foreign speakers, and regularly watch movies and YouTube videos without subtitles. Nothing intensive just consistent exposure over time. My preparation period was short but focused about ten days in total, two to three hours per day. I completed two full length mock tests from ETS and Magoosh, used Claude Pro briefly to generate additional reading and writing practice, did speaking practice sessions with a partner two to three times daily using a timer, and occasionally practiced listen and repeat exercises from YouTube. If I could offer a few practical suggestions, I would start with this: prioritize sleep before test day. It has a real impact on focus and performance. Practice speaking with a real person whenever possible, as it builds fluency and confidence under pressure. For writing, prioritize clarity over complexity; simple, well-organized responses are more effective than overcomplicated language. In speaking, don’t panic if you miss part of a sentence, saying even a partial response is better than silence. For listening, try to mentally place yourself in the situation to better follow the context. And for reading, avoid reading everything at once. Focus only on the paragraph relevant to each question to save time and maintain accuracy. Ultimately, the TOEFL is not only a test of English ability but also of strategy, focus, and calm decision making. Stay composed, trust your foundation, and manage your time wisely. A special thank you goes to Metages Mesfin @Meti_2323. Although he is considerably younger than I am, his expertise in TOEFL preparation and assessment is impressive. His advice, feedback, and constant support helped me approach the exam with confidence.

Mr. Metages, can you hear me? It feels like my messages never reach you. I’ve tried WhatsApp, Messenger, and Telegram, but you haven’t seen any of them. Sometimes I wonder if you’ve forgotten me among all your TOEFL students. I’m not messaging for anything special. I just wanted to thank you. Your sessions, guidance, and support played a big part in helping me pass my TOEFL exam. I want to thank everything you did for me, and I hope this message reaches you someday. I got 6/6.

Explanation of the First Writing Task in the 2026 TOEFL Test It appears that the Build a Sentence task functions as a score cap in the TOEFL Writing section. In other words, if you perform poorly on this task, your overall Writing score may remain low even if you do very well on the Email Writing and Academic Discussion tasks. Data from ETS's official practice tests seems to support this idea. For example, a test taker who earned nearly perfect scores on both writing tasks but performed poorly on the Build a Sentence section still received a surprisingly low overall Writing score. This pattern may originate from the TOEFL Essentials test, on which the structure of the new TOEFL is partially based. In TOEFL Essentials, the Build a Sentence task was adaptive, meaning that a test taker's performance on this section directly influenced the highest score they could achieve. Key takeaway: Take the Build a Sentence task seriously. Weak performance in this section may significantly limit your overall Writing score, regardless of how well you do on the other writing tasks. Neha Kapoor and Aisha Rahman, Sorry for the late message. Although I already congratulated you both privately, I realized I hadn't said anything publicly. I am really proud of both of you. Your achievements are well deserved and it has been a pleasure working with you throughout this journey. Seeing your hard work pay off makes me super excited. I would also like to wish one of my students, ( YOU KNOW YOURSELF) as well as others taking the TOEFL exam tomorrow, June 20, the very best of luck.
