Opening the World of the New Testament Today - the recording of the Workshop by Dr Quek Tze Ming on 4 Jul 2026 Coming to the New Testament from the Old seems like entering a world which is some parts familiar and some parts new. How did people in the first‑century people hear the words of Jesus and the apostles—and why does that matter to us today? Dr Quek explores in detail the elements of the historical, cultural, religious, and political world of the New Testament, helping us to understand and interpret the New Testament in context. In doing so, may we apply what we read more wisely to our contemporary life and ministry. The recording will be available on the BRP Telegram channel. ✨ Join the BRP telegram channel here: http://t.me/carmel_brp_bot

👋Hi church, as we come to the end of missions festival in august, let's continue to respond to The Macedonian Call and Go Where God is Not Yet Known. We hope you have gotten to know our new missions partner CCI (Mei, Elwyn, Hallel and Rev Seng Eng) and their work in Mindanao. Do keep them in your prayers as they minister to the Kalagan and other UPG communities there. We thank God for the team of 12 who are going on the 5-10 Sep Davao medical missions, do pray for them as they visit local communities and earthquake affected areas. We are also celebrating Mt Carmel Novaliches 23rd anniversay on 17-21 Sep, and we look forward to those with a heart for youths and young couples to join. We pray that you will come alongside CCI & OMM to serve in the mission field, at home or abroad, especially to the unreached. Along with missions festival celebrations, OMM hosted a round table discussion of Singapore churches, missions agencies and missionaries to collaborate on our collective work in Mindanao. We commit our efforts into His hands and he guides our steps. We thank God for a joint event last saturday, organized between OMM and Oasis, as Mr and Mrs Fong shared how they retired early to serve in missions. We hope their sharing inspired the 40+ who attended. Finally. we found great joy in seeing our Carmel Kids learn about missions, courtesy of the children's ministry inviting OM to share more on refugees and UPGs and the hope that the gospel brings globally. We appreciate those who have raised their hand to go or serve in future, as God works through our church renewal and transformation, to be more and more like Him. Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Amen

Not So Simple: Part II 📖   Dear young adults, we recognize that many inquiries remain following our previous session regarding the roles of men and women within the church. Indeed, this subject is complex; however, there is no cause for concern. 🤝   We invite you to attend the second installment of this discussion to explore: - The official stance of Carmel on this matter - The theological reasoning derived from Scripture to inform our practice - Strategies for advancing together in unity to serve as an effective Gospel witness to our community 🌍   Please join us this Sunday, 30 Aug to hear from Pastor Boon Leong, Elder Pak Wah, and Elder Kelvin. When we face life's heavy burdens, griefs, or unanswered prayers, it’s natural to feel weary. Yet, Scripture reminds us that our weaknesses are not obstacles—they are the very places where God’s divine strength and presence rest upon us. Join us for a special evening as we gather as one body to lift our hearts, surrender our burdens, and experience the renewing power of God’s grace together. Event Details 📅 Date: Friday, September 25, 2026 ⏰ Time: 8:00 PM 📍 Venue: Hope Sanctuary Come as you are—whether you are rejoicing, resting, or seeking comfort. Carmel Kids brought smiles and encouragement to the residents at Lentor Home with a beautiful song based on Psalm 121:1-2. 🎵✨ "Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord."

If you found the sanctuary on Sunday at 9 am a little quieter than usual on a fourth Sunday, it might have been because Carmel Kids weren’t present that day. Instead, close to 100 kids, accompanied by their teachers and some parents, were on a local mission trip across the road from church, armed with flowers, gifts, handwritten cards of encouragement, and games. It was the first of Carmel Kids’ biannual visits to Lentor Health Nursing Home in 2026. There, the children were broken into groups, with each group visiting a ward and encouraging the residents in song, interactive games, and even flower arrangement. It might have been only an hour, but we pray that the children, as little ambassadors of Christ, brought love and joy to the residents that day.💙🙌🏻🧒👦

🎶 Join Us in Praising the Lord!   Reformation Weekend is coming on 24–25 October, and we’d love for you to join the choir as we present a special item to mark this significant occasion.   Reformation Sunday reminds us of the recovery of the gospel truths: Scripture alone, grace alone, faith alone, Christ alone, and to God’s glory alone. Salvation is not earned—it is freely given by God’s grace.   The choir will be presenting “Only By His Grace”, a heartfelt reminder of Ephesians 2:8–9 and our salvation through grace, through faith in Christ.   🎵 Practices begin: Thursday, 24 September Whether you sing regularly or occasionally, we welcome you! 📧 To indicate your interest, email chrisyap@gmail.com. 🎹 Pianists needed for 2027! We’re also looking for pianists to serve with the choir in 2027. Flexible arrangements can be made around your schedule. If you’re able to help, please reach out! Come and use your gifts to proclaim God’s grace together! 🙏
