📢 Temporary Accommodation Needed Dear brothers and sisters, we are seeking temporary accommodation for a senior female friend of our church who is currently experiencing homelessness. She has been staying at the West Coast hawker centre, which will be closed for renovation from 14 September to 28 December. While her social worker assists her in applying for subsidised accommodation, she is in need of a temporary place to stay. 🏠 If you have a spare room and are open to hosting her temporarily, please prayerfully consider helping. Strengthened in Christ — through silence and solitude One month ago, our staff team took 2 days and 1 night away for a semi-silent retreat, surrounded by trees and the sea. The concept of silence and “doing nothing” felt a little unfamiliar and daunting at first! But as we slowed down, took wonder walks, spent time reflecting and simply being with God, we discovered that silence can be a gift — a chance to turn our attention away from the noise around us and towards God. In the stillness, we noticed His gentle invitations to receive His love, healing and refreshment. We captured what God was saying through a photo, sketch or journalling. It was a short retreat, but a deeply meaningful time with God. We left refreshed and grateful from simply being with God. “If we really believe not only that God exists but also that he is actively present in our lives—healing, teaching, and guiding—we need to set aside a time and space to give him our undivided attention. “ - Henri Nouwen
