IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has ordered heightened operational readiness throughout Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement), including reinforced forces in all three regional commands, increased alert levels, and reserve forces that can be deployed as needed. As part of the preparations, dedicated reinforcement companies have been allocated to the Northern, Central and Southern Commands. In addition, a senior commander will be present in each sector throughout the holiday. The Israeli Air Force and Israeli Navy have also increased their readiness. The Air Force will maintain an increased number of armed aircraft on standby throughout Yom Kippur, while the Navy will increase the presence of missile ships and reinforce its routine security forces along Israel's borders. At the Home Front Command, a major general will be on duty at headquarters, while each district will have a district commander on duty throughout the holiday. Alongside the forces being reinforced in the various sectors, the IDF will also bolster its reserve force structure. Additional companies will remain on standby and can be assigned to the different commands if necessary, alongside General Staff-level forces placed on alert and designated for specific sectors.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the ISA 2025 Outstanding Personnel Ceremony at the President's Residence From the Prime Minister's remarks at the ceremony: "In Judea and Samaria, there were a thousand thwarted attacks. That means a thousand attempts to murder our people and phenomenal successes. These successes were achieved thanks to your work and your cooperation with the IDF and all the security services. In the Gaza Strip, we are witnessing a phenomenon that I think surprises everyone. Of course, we entered Gaza, we are closing in on Hamas, and it was said that 'Hamas will now be protected, it will be immune', the exact opposite is happening. We are also settling accounts with those murderers who murdered our people, our daughters, our women and our children on October 7. And we are settling accounts with those who still remain. Not many remain, because we are dealing with them. When we tell the terrorists, 'No one is immune. We will reach all of you,' you are actually putting that into practice. The enemy is not static, and things change. The desire of Iran and its proxies to destroy the State of Israel, that desire has not disappeared, it has simply weakened. Their ability to carry it out has been very severely degraded. We have done most of the work, but there is still work left to complete — and we will complete it. We will eliminate Hamas, and first and foremost, we will defeat the regime in Iran. We will bring it down. It will fall. We will also deal with Hezbollah, and it too will fall. I know, based on what you have done in Judea and Samaria, based on what you have done in the Gaza Strip, and on the groundbreaking technological work you are doing, that you are outstanding — the honorees here today and all the outstanding personnel of the Israel Security Agency. David Zini, you lead a robust, strong and committed force, and above all else — a successful one. Thank you very much. Happy New Year." Photo credits: Ma'ayan Toaf / GPO

According to reports, Israel is currently carrying out air strikes in Lebanon.

What in the world, as a Danish citizen I’m really disappointed! Scandinavian airline SAS canceled its planned resumption of direct flights between Copenhagen and Tel Aviv, citing updated operational and commercial assessments. The airline said Tel Aviv remains an important destination and that it will continue monitoring developments after previously announcing four weekly flights. 🇩🇰 🇮🇱 😑

It was a false alarm! ⬆️

The United States has again refused to issue entry visas to Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas and members of his delegation ahead of next week’s United Nations General Assembly in New York. The US State Department on Wednesday night confirmed that it would deny visas to the PA chairman Abbas and his delegation. In a statement explaining the decision, the State Department said the PA violated US legislation that bars it from targeting Israel in international organizations, advancing unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state, paying stipends to terrorists and glorifying violence. “As a consequence of their failure to reform, contrary to their commitments to the United States, and their ongoing activities that undermine the prospects for peace, the United States will extend sanctions that deny visas to PLO members and PA officials," the State Department said. Well done America 👏👏👏
