STEAM ಎಂದರೆ Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts ಮತ್ತು Mathematics. ಈ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಜಪಾನ್‌, ದಕ್ಷಣಕೊರಿಯಾದಂತೆ ನಮ್ಮ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಉದ್ಯಮಶೀಲರಾಗಿ ಹೊರಹೊಮ್ಮುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂಬುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಚಿಂತನೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲಿಗೆ ಕೆಪಿಎಸ್‌ ಶಾಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯನ್ನು ಜಾರಿಗೆ ತರುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ ತರುವ, ಈಗಿನ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಅಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿರುವ ಕ್ರಮ ಇದಾಗಿದೆ.
