A Netflix director blew his budget on cryptocurrency
A court sentenced director Carl Erik Rinsch to 2.5 years in prison for defrauding Netflix of $11 million in funding for the series White Horse. Instead of completing the project, he used the money to trade options and cryptocurrency.
Rinsch initially lost more than half of the money on options, then invested the remaining funds in cryptocurrency, and then spent millions of dollars on luxury goods, including five Rolls-Royces, a Ferrari, Swiss watches, and furniture.
The court also ordered him to forfeit $11 million.
