#limited_supportDevice Control for removable drives in KESL
In today's Best Practices post, we’re looking at how to manage access to USB drives, external hard drives, and other removable drives on computers protected by Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Linux.
In KESL, this is handled by Device Control. It provides flexible access control. For example, you can:
✅ Allow access for specific users or user groups (KESL 12.3+), such as domain users
✅ Specify the ID of a trusted device and grant access to a particular employee
✅ Grant temporary access upon a user’s request (KESL 12.4)
✅ Allow read-only access
👉When editing policies, make sure the lock icon is closed so that the changes are applied to managed devices👈
In version 12.4, you can also configure the message shown to users when a device is blocked.
To monitor removable drives, create a Device Control events report in KSC and receive it by email.
💪 Strengthen your protection by scanning removable drives after they are connected.

Updated the
collect.sh script
In April, we updated the collect.sh script. Now you can run it remotely on managed devices running macOS. To do this, use the new version of collect.sh together with Network Agent for Mac version 15.3.0.23303 or later.
Please use only the latest script version for collecting initial diagnostic data.
Find it in this article or download it using the button below.Update of Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity for Nodes 2.6 is required
Please note that version 2.6.0.785 of Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity for Nodes reached end of support on April 4, 2026. The preliminary end date of the database and module updates for this version is October 4, 2026. Without these updates, the application will no longer be able to detect new threats or provide effective protection against them.
❇️ We recommend updating to the latest application versions:
4.0.0.236 and 4.5.0.637.
We’ve also published security advisories for KICS for Nodes 2.6.0.785. It is especially important to update as soon as possible if this version is used in a critical infrastructure environment.
If you need assistance or consultation regarding the KICS update, please contact us.

OpenSSL library update
This week, the OpenSSL library used in our email and web traffic protection solutions will be updated to a new version.
For the changes to take effect, a reboot will be required (you will see a notification in the application web interface). The reboot can be performed at any convenient time when traffic is at its lowest. Until then, the applications will continue running with the previous library version without any loss of functionality.
Traffic processing will be interrupted only during the server reboot. Please restart the cluster nodes one at a time.
The update will affect the following applications:
— Kaspersky Secure Mail Gateway 2.0
— Kaspersky Secure Mail Gateway 2.0 MR1
— Kaspersky Secure Mail Gateway 2.1
— Kaspersky Secure Mail Gateway 2.1.1
— Kaspersky Secure Mail Gateway 3.0
— Kaspersky Web Traffic Security 6.1
— Kaspersky Web Traffic Security 6.2
— Kaspersky Security for Linux Mail Server 10
#news
As you already know, the lifecycle of Kaspersky Security for Windows Server as part of the Kaspersky Security for Business solution ended on June 30, 2025.
Due to this:
➡️ On April 25, 2026, the KSWS installation package will be removed from Kaspersky Security Center Cloud Console. After this date, you will not be able to download or install KSWS from KSC CC.
➡️ On June 20, 2026, management of installed KSWS will no longer be available in KSC CC.
🚀 To retain all the familiar KSWS features, we recommend migrating to Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows that has been further optimized for the use in server scenarios.
For more information about migration, see this article.
