At least 27 people have been killed in a crash involving a minibus carrying church members in central Zimbabwe.
The minibus collided with a haulage truck near Chivhu, about 140km south of the capital Harare, on August 28, police said.
The truck was overtaking another vehicle when it hit the minibus, which was carrying passengers travelling to a church conference.
State broadcaster ZBC News reported that 23 people died at the scene, with additional victims later dying in the hospital.
The crash is the latest in a series of deadly road accidents in Zimbabwe, where poor road conditions and dangerous driving have contributed to a high number of fatalities.

South Africa has formally accused Israel of failing to comply with three legally binding orders issued by the International Court of Justice, submitting an evidence dossier to the court as part of its genocide case against Israel.
It said Israel had not complied with the orders and warned that the rights of Palestinians in Palestine’s Gaza could be “destroyed” before the ICJ delivers its final decision.
The submission said that as of August, at least 73,407 Palestinians had been killed and 174,335 injured, while also alleging arbitrary detention, torture and other forms of mistreatment of Palestinians.

Israeli security forces raided UNRWA’s Qalandiya Training Centre in occupied East Jerusalem on August 25. At least four armoured vehicles entered the premises, accompanied by more than 50 Israeli security personnel, UNRWA said in a statement, calling on the international community to act “immediately and decisively”, adding that “The entry of armed security forces into a United Nations facility, without the authorisation or consent of the United Nations, is unacceptable.”
