Ballroom /ˈbɔːl.ruːm/ = سالن رقص، تالار رقص A ballroom is a large room designed for formal or social dancing, especially dances such as the waltz, tango, or foxtrot. Example:
The wedding reception was held in a beautiful ballroom. مراسم عروسی در یک تالار رقص زیبا برگزار شد.
Related words ballroom dancing = رقص‌های سالنی ballroom dance = رقص سالنی ballroom dancer = رقصندهٔ رقص‌های سالنی ballroom dancing competition = مسابقه رقص سالنی
IELTS tip:
Don't confuse ballroom with ball. ball = توپ / مهمانی رسمی ballroom = سالن یا تالاری که در آن رقص برگزار می‌شود.

“I’m blown away!” means:
👉 I’m extremely impressed, amazed, or surprised. 👉 فارسی: خیلی شگفت‌زده شدم / واقعاً تحت تأثیر قرار گرفتم / محشره!
Examples:
I’m blown away by your progress! از پیشرفتت واقعاً شگفت‌زده شدم! The performance was incredible—I was blown away. اجرا فوق‌العاده بود؛ واقعاً شگفت‌زده شدم. I was blown away by how beautiful the city was. از اینکه شهر چقدر زیبا بود واقعاً تحت تأثیر قرار گرفتم. 💡
Note:
This is an
informal and very natural expression
and is commonly used in everyday English.
Similar expressions:
I’m amazed. = شگفت‌زده‌ام I’m impressed. = تحت تأثیر قرار گرفته‌ام I’m speechless. = زبانم بند آمده / نمی‌دانم چه بگویم My mind is blown! 🤯 = ذهنم منفجر شد! / واقعاً شوکه و شگفت‌زده شدم!
IELTS Speaking tip:
Instead of always saying “I was very surprised,” you can naturally say:
I was absolutely blown away by it.
This can make your speaking sound more natural and idiomatic.

Get a hold of yourself: خودت را کنترل کن / بر اعصابت مسلط شو Keep your feet on the ground: واقع‌بین و متواضع ماندن Pull yourself together: خودت را جمع‌وجور کن / آرامش و کنترل خودت را به دست بیاور Come to your senses: به خودت بیا / عاقلانه فکر کردن را شروع کن Keep your cool: خونسردی خودت را حفظ کن / آرام بمان

To be grounded is particularly useful for describing personality:
Despite achieving considerable success, she has remained remarkably grounded and humble. با وجود موفقیت قابل‌توجهش، او به‌طرز چشمگیری همچنان متواضع و واقع‌بین باقی مانده است.

🔥 Three very useful patterns

For natural spoken English, “I could really do with…” is especially useful
because it sounds much more conversational than simply saying
“I want…”

Your potatoes are heavenly”, it means: «سیب‌زمینی‌هاتون فوق‌العاده خوشمزه‌ست / محشره.» Here, heavenly means extremely delicious or wonderful.
