Mitral annular caseous calcification is a chronic degenerative process that implies calcification on the mitral support structure.
It usually appears as a bystander to other cardiac pathologies hindering surgical treatment and increasing morbidity and mortality.

🔹Caseous Calcification of MV annulus
Is little bit rare finding
Her a case in 90 years old female showed CCMA A rounded or semilunar, well-circumscribed, echo-dense mass located in the posterior peri-annular region of the mitral valve.
🔹The mass has smooth borders and unlike typical dense calcification shows a central echolucent (echo-free / lower echogenicity) zone, representing the "caseous" (liquefied) interior.
🔹Mostly misdiagnosed as Cardiac Tumour.

💎Caseous Calcification of MV annulus (CCMA)
🔺This is an apical LV pseudoaneurysm; a rupture of the infarcted apical myocardium that was contained by the pericardium.
🔺A 19 y/o had a history of DOE that worsened in the last two months with onset of Chest Pain.
🔺Echo showed a peak systolic gradient across the aortic valve was 116 mmHg and mean gradient was 64 mmHg.
