Dear Readers, In today’s contemporary life, sport and architecture have a significant impact on the world around us. The role architecture and sports play in shaping cultures, societies, economies, and politics has been a topic of study for decades. The convergence of which offers a compounded influence on our lives today. This first issue of 2023 explores an architectural piece that delicately symbolizes the dynamics of tennis sport by creating a merely distinguishable form. The International Tennis Club (ITC) building located near Bisrate Gabriel Church, designed by the seasoned practice of Mekbib Kassahun was developed by one of the founders and former president of the Ethiopian Tennis Federation. Designed by the eclectic practice of Rahel Shawl, the building breathes an air of modernity while resonating the characters of the 60s and 70s architecture. Happy New Year! We trust 2015 will truly be the genesis of our country's peace and prosperity. This Ethiopian year, Ketema is compelled to look back on one of the purest epitomes of architecture in our city, Stairs. Meticulously designed by the seasoned and prolific starchitect (star architect) Zeleke Belay, stairs symbolize the dawn of contemporary architecture in Ethiopia. On top of that Zeleke shared with us his recent experience of a record volume of concrete casted at a time, to a raft foundation for a high-rise building at Mexico square that his firm obtained in an architectural competition held in 2019. Regards, Fasil Giorghis (M.arch) Chairman of the General  Assembly, ነባር የማህበሩ አባላት እንዲሁም አዳዲስ ምሩቃን አርክቴክቶች ወደዚህ እጅግ ወደሚያስፈልገን ማሀበር ጠቅላላ ጉባኤ መምጣት ይኖርብናል። ላለፉት 3 አመታት በማናውቀውና ህጉን ባልጠበቀ መልኩ ስብሰባው ያልተካሄደ ሲሆን አሁን ይሄንን እድል ተጠቅመን በማህበሩ ውስጥ መታቀፍ፣ ለመመረጥ መዘጋጀት፣ በክልል ያለን ደግሞ አዲስአበባ ብቻ ባሉ የማህበር አመራሮች የተወሰነውን የየአመራር ኮሚቴ አባላት አሰራር በተገቢ ሁኔታ ውክልና ለማግኘት ሲባል መለወጥ ይኖርብናል። በመሆኑም በሁሉም ክልል ከተሞች ያለን አርክቴክቶች በዚህ ቀን መምጣትና የሚከተሉትን አጀንዳ ማንሳት ይኖርብናል። 1. የግዴታ የምንጠብቀውን የአርክቴክቶች ማህበር የከተሞች የቻፕተር አስፈላጊነትን ማንሳት። 2. ስራ አስፈጻሚ ኮሚቴ ውስጥ ከውክልና አንጻር ከአዲስአበባ ውጪ ያሉ የማህበር አባላት መወከል እንዳለባቸው ከዝያም አልፎ ከአዲስ አበባ ውጪ ያሉ  ቻፕተሮች በምን መልኩ ነው የስራ አስፈጻሚ አባላት ውስጥ ሊወከሉ የሚችሉት የሚለውን ማንሳት ይኖርብናል። 3. ወጣት አርክቴክቶች ስትመረጡ ልትከውኑ ካሰባችሁት እቅድ ጋር የምረጡኝ ዘመቻውን በግልጽም ሆነ በግል ማስኬድ  ይኖርባችኋል። አለበለዝያ እናንተ ለማገልገል ካላሰባችሁ ማህበሩ እንደ ከዚህ ቀድሞው ሁልግዜ አንድአይነት ፊት የሚታይበት በረጅም ግዜ የሚደረግ ዘላቂ ጥቅም በማያመጣ መተካካት ውስጥ ያልፋል። በመሆኑም አዲስአበባም ሆነ የክልል ከተሞች ውስጥ ያለን አርክቴክቶች ያንን ቀን ሌላ ፕሮግራም ባለመያዝ እንዲሁም በጠቅላላ ጉባኤው ላይ ለመመረጥ፣ ለመምረጥና ንቁ ተሳትፎ ለማድረግ ተዘጋጅተን መምጣት ይኖርብናል። ማህበራችን የሁላችንም ነው። ማህበሩን ማገልገል ደግሞ ትልቁ ጥሪን መወጣት ነው። ማህበሩ ከደከመ እኔ ደክሜአለሁ ማህበሩ ከበረታ እኔ በርትቻለሁ ማለት እስክንችል ድረስ ሁላችን አርክቴክቶች ማህበሩ የእኛ መሆኑን መረዳት ይኖርብናል። ማንም አርክቴክት ከሌላው በበለጠ ማህበሩ የኔ ነው የሚል ሀላፊነት ሊሰማው አይገባም። በተቃራኒውም ማንም አርክቴክት ማህበሩን ከሌላው ባነሰ ስሜት ሊመለከት አይገባም። በተጨማሪም አዲስ አባላት መመዝገብያና አመታዊ መዋጮአችንን ይዘን መምጣት አንርሳ። Via @ethiopianarchitectureandurbanism . . . ንድፍ ለሰበአዊነት! @NArcHomeArchitecture
