On July 26, 2026 (Sunday) around 11:00 PM, the Excise & Narcotics Department arrested two individuals in Phaizawl, New Champhai, along with 3.333 kg of Methamphetamine (30,300 tablets). The accused, who claim to reside in New Champhai, have been identified as Vanthangliana (40), son of Ngurdawla, and Thanghomanga (35), son of Kaikhanlanga. This Methamphetamine was brought in from Myanmar, and they were caught while attempting to sell it. A case has been registered against those arrested in connection with the Methamphetamine under The Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS Act), and they were produced in court today.

On 27.07.2026, Manipur Police arrested an active cadre of RPF/PLA, one Yendrembam Athouba Meitei alias Atomba alias Takhelngamba (21) of Moreh Premnagar Ward No. 4, Tengnoupal district from an abandoned house located at New Lambulane under Porompat-PS.

On 27.07.2026, Manipur Police arrested an extortionist active cadre of KCP (MFL), one Yensenbam Chandrasen Meitei alias Pase (52) from Langdum Lamkhai area under Irilbung-PS.

On 26.07.2026, security forces arrested an active cadre of KCP (PWG), one Khoisnam Naoba Singh (29) alias Wanglen of Nagamapal Phougeisangbam Leikai, Imphal West district from RIMS gate area under Lamphel-PS.

ASSAM RIFLES APPREHENDS SEVEN INSURGENT CADRES AND RECOVERS ARMS IN INTENSIVE COUNTER-INFILTRATION OPERATIONS ACROSS MANIPUR #AssamRifles in a series of intelligence-based joint and independent operations conducted between 18 and 24 July 2026, apprehended seven active cadres of banned insurgent groups in Manipur. The operations, conducted along the Indo-Myanmar Border and in Chandel, Tengnoupal and Kakching districts, led to the recovery of 01 AK-47 rifle, 02 Molotov cocktails and 05 live rounds of .22 ammunition. All apprehended cadres and recovered items were handed over to the concerned police stations for further legal proceedings. The successful operations reaffirm Assam Rifles commitment to maintaining security and peace in Manipur.

One AK 47 with 2 magazines, 2. One DBBL, 3. One Sniper Rifle (Country made), 4. One 9 mm pistol with magazine, 5. One 9mm pistol with magazine (Country made), 6. One 9 mm pistol with magazine (Country made), 7. One 51 HE Mortar Shell, 8. Two 36 HE Hand grenades, 9. One hand grenade with tube launcher, 10. ⁠Anti riot grenades, 11. ⁠Magazines, 12. Ammunition rounds of different calibres and other miscellaneous items.

𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗺𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗼-𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 Major seizures were made by #AssamRifles under #SpearCorps in two successful joint operations across #Mizoram. In Siasi Village, Siaha, troops, in coordination with the Excise & Narcotics Department, seized 33 packets of Heroin No. 4 weighing 401 grams, valued at approximately ₹3.01 crore, and apprehended two Myanmar nationals. In another operation along the Champhai-Khawzawl Road, conducted jointly with the Customs Preventive Force, troops recovered 501 bags of areca nuts weighing 40,080 kg, worth approximately ₹4.12 crore. These successful operations dealt a significant blow to cross-border smuggling and narcotics trafficking, reaffirming the unwavering commitment of #AssamRifles to safeguarding the nation's borders.

On 26.07.2026, Manipur Police arrested one Letmintgang Haolai (33) along with 2.5 kg of suspected Brown Sugar and a two-wheeler from Tuibong area under Churachandpur-PS, Churachandpur district.

Today, 26/07/2026, at around 6.15 pm, on receiving reliable inputs regarding movement of armed miscreants at Wakha Ching area, Imphal East, teams of Special Commando Unit, Khabeisoi led by Dr. S. Ibomcha Singh, IPS, Commandant, 6th IRB & i/c Special Commando Unit comprising of OC Special CDO Unit, Subedar L. Bibekananda Singh and a team of 6th IRB rushed to the area and started frisking, checking and search of the area. After extensive search operations, the teams detected 4 suspicious Plastic bags in the jungle area of Wakha Hill , opposite Shelloi Langmai Composite Farm and recovered the following 29 arms with magazines : 1) SLR - 5 nos. 2) Insas with straight butt- 2 nos. 3) Insas with folding butt- 2 nos. 4) AK Ghatak with butt- 2 nos. 5) Insas LMG- 1 no. 6) .303 Rifles- 06 nos. 7) DBBL- 03 nos. 8) SBBL- 07 nos. 9) Pump action gun. The other recoveries include - Lathode bomb - 01 .303 live rounds- 530 nos. 7.62 SLR live rounds- 64 nos. Insas live rounds -19 nos. 5.56 carbine live rounds-06 nos.

On 25.07.2026, security forces arrested an active cadre of KCP (City Meitei), one Urikhinbam Malemnganba Singh alias Watemba (30) of Sorok Atingbi Khunou, Hilghat, Jiribam district from Thongju Part-II area under Singjamei-PS.

On July 25, Assam Rifles detained 4 farmers in Hungpung, Ukhrul—just 2–5 km from the July 6 ambush site where 2 jawans were killed. The detentions during post-ambush sweep ops sparked local blockades; all 4 were released to TNL at Lahu village.

On 25.07.2026, Manipur Police arrested an active cadre of KCP (City Meitei), one Yaikhom Abhinash Meetei alias Naoba alias Abi (26) from Kongpal Khongkham Leikai under Porompat-PS, Imphal East district.

On 25.07.2026, Manipur Police arrested from Thoubal Bazar two active cadres of UNLF (P) involved in recruitment of cadres: i). Mutum Seitaraj Singh alias Samlang (31) and ii). Thounaojam Rakesh Meitei alias Amuba alias Pangeingakpa (35). A Maruti Suzuki Swift car was seized from the duo.

On 25.07.2026, during a raid at a workshop- Highway Auto Care Workshop- at Patsoi Lamkhai along NH-37, security forces recovered 30 soap cases of Brown Sugar weighing 346 grams from a Pajero (MN07D-3481) stationed at the workshop. The co-owners of the workshop have been arrested: i). Sheikh Salauddin (46) of Odisha, and ii). Chongtham Anilkumar Singh (38) of Patsoi Part-IV.

On 25.07.2026, security forces recovered from Shangkai village and Mongkot Chepu village and its surrounding area under Litan-PS, Ukhrul district, the following: i. 01 (one) Local made pompi gun, ii. 01 (one) 12 bore rifle, iii. 09 (nine) live rounds ammunition of different calibers, and iv. Home-made improvised mortar shell and IED.

In continuation of an ongoing investigation of a FIR case under ND&PS Act registered at Churachandpur-PS, Manipur Police on 24.07.2026 arrested one Mrs. Zenngaihniang (56) of Gouchinkhup Veng, New Lamka, Churachandpur district. A sum of Rs 28,78,400 suspected to be proceeds from drug-related crime was recovered. The arrestee is involved in sending huge amount of money to suspected beneficiaries of drug trade in Myanmar. Five cash registers and a cash-counting machine were also recovered.
