A quick reminder,
Our 72 hour fast starts today at 2 pm all the way to Friday at 2 pm.
What's your excuse this month?
A lesson I picked from "The Lean Startup by Eric Ries".
Don't spend a lot of money building something before you know whether people actually want it.
When you are new in to the field, you will get many ideas. Y will become excited, rent an expensive space, buy lots of stock, print thousands of flyers and spend your savings only to discover later that the market wasn't interested.
Business is not about proving that your idea is good; it is about finding out whether customers are willing to pay for it. It's about solving human problems and earning from that.
+ Start small.
+Test the idea.
+ Listen to customers.
+ Make mistakes cheaply and learn quickly.
If it works, improve and grow. If it doesn't, change direction, you are doing it for you not for validation.
Test before you invest heavily.

Again, to those on a salary;
Many of us make a budget based on the salary we earn: “I earn KSh 100,000, so my budget must fit within KSh 100,000.”
But sometimes, your vision, your business, your investments, or your family's needs require a budget that is bigger than your current salary.
There is nothing wrong with having a budget that exceeds your salary. The question becomes; how will you fund the budget?
That may mean;
+ Increasing your income, possibly a pay rise.
+ Starting a business. But don't start one with the hope to eat the profit.
+ Taking on extra work, maybe overtime or another job.
+ Bringing in a partner or collaborating.
+ Working tirelessly to attract investors
+ Borrowing.
Our parents often taught us to fear debt, as if all debt is bad. It isn't. Even governments borrow.
The real question is not “Did you borrow?” but “What did you borrow for, and how will it help you generate or preserve value?”
Borrowing to finance consumption you cannot afford is dangerous. But borrowing to fund a productive opportunity can be part of a sound financial strategy.
Think about your bank account. You may have money sitting there, but if you need a loan, the bank doesn't simply hand you your money immediately.
Your deposits are being used to finance other people's success stories as you get excited over figures in an account.
Your money can be working for the bank while you are paying the bank to access money. That should make you think differently about money, debt, and financial planning.
Ask yourself;
+ What is my budget?
+ What is it meant to accomplish, and
+ What are the different ways I can responsibly fund it?
Your salary is one source of funding your budget.
Don't shrink your vision to fit your salary. Write a budget and find more ways to fund it. Stop budgeting your salary.

As you "plan" to invest in a business, if at all you will, remember preparation should not be confused with procrastination.
You keep telling yourself, “I need more information first.” So you keep reading, researching, watching videos and analyzing options until you feel completely ready.
But most of the time, that is simply fear of wearing the gown of preparation.
You will never have 100% certainty before you invest because risk will always exist. The smarter approach is;
+ Identify the risks
+ Understand how you can avoid or minimize them, and then,
+ Make a calculated decision.
And when you are learning, make your learning directed.
If you want to invest in shares, don't try to become a scholar of the entire stock market.
Learn what you actually need to know:
+ What are the risks?
+ How do I manage them?
+ How much should I start with?
+ Should I invest all at once or gradually?
Sometimes, starting small is wiser because you gain experience and confidence as you go.
The goal isn't to know everything before you start. The goal is to know enough to start wisely, learn from experience, and keep improving.
Preparation should reduce risk not become an excuse to avoid action.

I did recommend some books to read in our previous posts. Have you read any?
Anyway, one powerful lesson from "The Psychology of Money" by Morgan Housel is that doing well with money is more about how you behave than what you know about money.
Two people can earn the same amount, but one builds wealth while the other remains broke because of their decisions. Have you heard the old saying, let your money ferment before you use it?
How quick are you with decision making the moment you get the notification that your salary is here?
In business, the above simply means you must learn to separate emotion from financial decisions.
Don't spend money simply because the business is making money. Don't hire someone because they are your friend. Don't keep a failing investment because you are emotionally attached to it. Numbers don't have feelings.
As a business owner, you have to learn to ask uncomfortable questions: Can we afford it? What is the return? What happens if things go wrong?
Discipline is knowing when to say no, even when you can afford to say yes. Don't let your emotions make financial decisions that your numbers should make.

One of the biggest lessons from The E-Myth Revisited by Michael E. Gerber is this:
“If your business depends on you, you don't own a business, you have a job.”
That people start businesses because they are good at what they do. But being a good engineer, mechanic, baker, doctor, or designer doesn't automatically mean you know how to run a business.
If everything depends on you, from serving customers to buying stock, handling money and making every decision; you haven't really built a business; you've simply created another job for yourself.
The goal is therefore to build systems, not dependence.
Your business should eventually be able to function even when you are not there.
+ Train people
+ Document processes
+ Delegate responsibilities and
+ Create structures that allow the business to operate without your constant presence.
Most people will not train others because of the fear of their ideas being stolen and their business too. But in this game, competition is healthy. Collaborations are even better.
This is why business is not for everyone.

For those on a monthly salary, here are some nuggets.
Let's say your salary is 100,000.
1. 100,000 ×300=30,000,000
This is the amount of money you need invested to replace your income.
2. 100,000×0.2= 20,000
The amount of money you should be investing monthly. This will be a cushion for later.
3. 100,000×6=600,000
This should be your emergency fund. You remember sometimes back I asked you, if you lost your job today, how long can you survive on your savings living and maintaining the same lifestyle? This is what is used to cushion you for at least 6 months if anything goes wrong.
4. 100,000×0.5=50,000. Basically half of your salary should go to necessities. Rent, water, electricity, WiFi, food, transport and daily livelihoods.
How many of us have embraced this already?🖐️

I have observed that people enter business thinking business is an alternative when their career is failing.
+ They think business is just a side hustle they can do whenever they have free time.
+ They think business decisions should be based on emotions.
+ They confuse friendship with partnership.
+ They think they will eat the profit.
+ They grow before they have systems.
And sometimes, they repeat mistakes that somebody else already made because they hardly study business.
I wouldn't want us to do that. But this is not me imposing my will on you.
If someone has already paid the price for a lesson, the next person shouldn't have to pay the same price.
That is what #BusinessMonday is all about.
Because business is not a game of emotions. It is a game of value, numbers, discipline, systems and decisions.

Good morning advocates.
How was your weekend?
Welcome to #BusinessMonday
A quick reminder; I am not a business expert, I am a student of business.
I read business books, study businesses, observe people who have built successful companies, and most importantly; I have made my own mistakes which I share and you can learn from them. I hope to learn from you too, so be engaging.
In men, estrogen is also a mess.
+ Lowers testosterone therefore feminisation comes in.
+ Low libido and erectile dysfunction.
+ Anger and emotional outbursts.
+ Manboobs.
+ Growth of hips.
+ Low sperm count.
+ Weight gain.
+ Loss of muscle.
+ Narrowing of voice.
+ Prostate enlargement.
Let's keep lowering estrogen.
A reminder;
Hormonal imbalance
This is a term used often to describe the rising levels of estrogen in women.(Even men).
Women have two hormones;
+ Progesterone;which is the fertility and happiness hormone.
It's also a hormone that neutralizes the side effects of estrogen.
+Estrogen; Which is the feminine hormone. Causes even distribution of fats in the body and gives you the female characteristics.
However, on the extreme level, this hormone is dangerous.
As a woman ages, her ovaries which are the primary producers of these hormones also age.
This means that, the levels of these hormones also go down because the factory is closing gradually.
There's a gland called the adrenal gland that takes over(back up ) to start producing progesterone when the ovaries finally give up. This is to ensure that women go through menopause in peace.
But most women feed on sugar, wheat, processed carbs and seed oils. These foods are inflammatory to the adrenals. They also disrupt hormone balance.
Other hormonal disruptors include; Teflon(non stick cookware), triclosan(liquid detergent),pthalates(skin products),GMO,glyphosates+pesticides),parabens(tooth paste),alcohol and hormonal contraceptives.
Women simply feed estrogen as they destroy progesterone. They then end up with estrogen dominance which means higher estrogen levels in relation to the progesterone levels.
Whatever they suffer from is simply the symptoms of estrogen dominance which includes;
+Hot flashes
+PMS(post menopausal syndrome)
+Obesity
+Weak bones
+Hypertension
+Clots
+Endometriosis
+PCOS
+Painful menstruation and absence of menstruation
+Acne
+Fibroids
+Cervical,breast and ovarian cancer.
+Ovarian cysts.
They then head to hospital to remove/treat the symptoms instead of treating the cause. This is why the symptoms will still recur.
Mirena, primolut N,estrogen patches and pessaries and surgeries, they all fix symptoms.
You will be told that the risk of fibroids coming back even after surgery is still present. Which means, welcome back soon.
Also, fat is highly estrogenic. As you grow fat, you accumulate estrogen. This is why most fat men are very emotional and most fat women suffer alot of "hormonal imbalance".
Keep losing that extra fat.
I hope this explains better.
Back in 2020–2021, when I first decided to become consistent in the gym, my goal was simple: I wanted to become a beast.
My friend and I bought whey protein for about KSh 7,000. We would take the whey, then drink a whole packet of milk and eat whatever we thought would help us “bulk.”
We even made those legendary gym-bro shakes:
Whey + 2 bananas + cereals + milk + dates + peanut butter.
It looked like a serious fitness meal.
We thought we were doing everything right.
After about 90 days of consistency, the results came.
72 kg to 98 kg.
But there was one problem. I wasn't a beast, I was FAT.
My neck disappeared. My thighs had some cellulite(Thick thighs if you wish), I looked older. At one point, I looked like one giant cephalothorax (head and body had fused).
That experience taught me something I wish I had understood much earlier.
GAINING WEIGHT IS NOT THE SAME AS BUILDING A GOOD BODY.
The fitness industry can make us believe that we need powders, shakes, cereals, mass gainers and endless calories to build muscle.
But before you reach for a supplement, ask yourself if you have mastered real food first?
Eat your meat and eggs, eat plus the yolks.
I still wonder why some gym bros remove the egg yolk because they are “watching calories,” only to turn around and spend thousands on supplements.
Your body was not designed to depend on tubs and powders.
Build your foundation with real, nutrient dense foods, adequate animal protein, proper training, recovery and discipline.
And remember, you don't need to eat everything in sight just because you want to build muscle.
You need to give your body the right raw materials and give your muscles a reason to grow.
One more thing, whey is a waste product from milk processing. Avoid crap!
Don't make the mistake I made.
I went to the gym wanting to become a beast. I ate like a beast, and for a while, I simply became one.
I am glad I unlearned.
