🥇 The XAU/USD pair is trading at $4,040 per ounce.
🏛 Today, traders are focusing on the Federal Reserve (Fed) meeting, as well as a press conference by Fed Chair Kevin Warsh. The Fed is expected to keep interest rates unchanged, though market participants are pricing in a 30% probability of a 25-basis-point hike, from 3.75% to 4%. According to forecasts, the U.S. central bank will express concern over high inflation, which remains above the target level, a move that will be interpreted as a hint at tighter monetary policy later this year. According to the FedWatch Tool, the probability of a rate hike in September is currently estimated at 80%. This news backdrop could provide support for the dollar, which would negatively impact the price of gold.
⚠️ Sellers of gold are also being bolstered by a record outflow of capital from Chinese gold ETFs. Over the past two months, more than 15 billion yuan has been withdrawn from these funds, indicating a crisis of confidence in gold.
📉 Given this, the decline in the XAU/USD pair may continue.

🇺🇸🇨🇭 The USD/CHF pair is trading near the 0.8200 level.
⚠️ New U.S. trade tariffs continue to put pressure on the franc. Late last week, the Trump administration imposed double-digit tariffs on more than 60 countries, including Switzerland. To implement these measures, the administration cited a legal basis that grants the executive branch the authority to impose import taxes and sanctions against countries engaging in “discriminatory” trade practices.
🏛 As for monetary policy, the Swiss National Bank (SNB) is expected to keep its interest rate unchanged at 0% through 2027. The main reason is low inflation, which slowed to 0.5% in June. According to analysts, even if the consumer price index continues to rise, it is unlikely to exceed 0.8% at its peak, which comfortably fits within the target range of 0% to 2%. Unlike the SNB, the U.S. Federal Reserve may raise its rate as early as September, from 3.75% to 4%.
📈 Given this, the USD/CHF pair retains its upside potential.
