أيها الناس، إنّه لا يَستَغني الرجلُ—وإن كان ذا مالٍ—عن عشيرته ودِفاعِهم عنه بأيديهم وألسنتهم، وَهُم أعظمُ الناس حَيطةً¹ من ورائه وألَمُّهم لِشَعَثِه، وأعطَفُهم عليه عند نازلةٍ إذا نَزَلَت به. ولِسانُ الصدق يَجعَلُه اللهُ للمَرءِ في الناس خَيرٌ له مِنَ المال يَرِثُه غَيرُه. ألا لا يَعدِلَنّ أحدُكم عن القَرابةِ يَرى بِها الخَصاصةَ² أنْ يَسُدّها بالذي لا يَزيدُه إنْ أمسَكَه ولا يَنقُصُه إنْ أهلَكَه، ومَن يَقبِض يَدَه عن عشيرَتِه فإنّما تُقبَضُ مِنه عنهم يدٌ واحدة، وتُقبَضُ مِنهم عَنه أيدٍ كثيرة. ¹الحَيطة: الرعاية، و"حَيطةً مِن ورائه" تعني رعايةً له دونَ عِلمه. ²الخَصاصة: الفُقر والحاجة.

بهذا السياق، أساس التعريب ليس المترجِم وهو ينقل المعرفة بين لغتين، بل العالِم نفسه وهو ينتج عِلوم وأبحاث جديدة بلغته الأُم من خلال ما جمعه من معلومات باللغة الأجنبية.

تذكرت نقطة ذكرها د. عادل مصطفى بـ "مغالطات لغوية" يكول بما معناه أنّ أغلب المعترضين على تعريب الطب يعترضون لأنّ "كل الأبحاث الجديدة" اللي تصدر هي بالإنكليزي (أو بلغة أوروبية مثل الفرنسي والألماني) الحل مالته جان مو أنه نسوي حركة ترجمة تترجم كل الأبحاث بلحظة صدورها، هالشي مستحيل عمليًا ويصرف وقت وجهد وفلوس على مشروع حُكِم عليه بالفشل من بدايته. الحل بسيط: علِّم الطلاب بالعربية أساسًا وعزّزها بالإنكليزية، بحيث يتخرجون وهمة دارسين الطب بالعربي لكن يعرفون الإصطلاحات الطبية الإنكليزية. بهيج حالة الطبيب ما يحتاج تُتَرجَم الأبحاث حتى يقراها، هو رح يقراها بلغتها الأصلية مباشرةً. لكن الفرق هو أنّه لما يؤلف مؤلَّف جديد بالموضوع، رح يؤلفه بالعربي ويضيفله ما قرأه من أبحاث بالإنكليزي. باختصار: لا تعرّب العِلم بأكمله بل فقط عرّب طالب العلم، بحيث يفهم اللغة الأجنبية وبنفس الوقت يكون قادِر على التعبير والتأليف بلغته الأُم.
