We reproduce here the full text of the speech given by Dr Ranjeet Brar on 4 April 2026. As a result of this speech, Dr Brar was arrested for the third time since the start of the Gaza genocide. This time on charges of antisemitism.
His hospital employers simultaneously began a disciplinary proceeding and the General Medical Council (GMC) also opened a (second, vexatious) investigation into his fitness to practice on the grounds that his anti-zionist activism is tantamount to racism and is thus bringing the medical profession into disrepute.
Judge for yourselves whether this speech contains a shred of racism or prejudice – against jewish people (a religion, not a race) or anyone else.
The speech was given at a memorial event protesting the massacre of 168 children at a primary school in Minab during the first hours of the USA’s criminal, aggressive war against Iran. The memorial was held at the Palestine encampment opposite the US embassy in Nine Elms, London.
Dr Brar’s case against the introduction of the IHRA ‘working definition of antisemitism’ to the NHS is ongoing (support the costs for this case here).
Lawyers have filed a case with the high court requesting a judicial review and he remains suspended from his job, unable to return to work as a surgeon unless he accepts ‘conditions’ – under which he would be prevented from speaking against genocide and war in public, even though the hospital’s own investigation concluded that he has done nothing wrong!

He told us that he had a previous history of involvement with the Communist Party of Britain, of which he claimed to be a former regional organiser. He cited political disagreements as the reason for leaving them and approaching us.
After a period as a relatively inactive supporter and having had limited interaction with the party, it came to light that there had been an incident in which allegations were made about his personal conduct. These were serious allegations regarding his safety to be around women and children and that his actions had been reported to the police.
It subsequently came to light that he had a similar history within the YCL and the CPB and was in fact expelled from those organisations for similar reasons.
We have excluded him from membership, activity or association with the party. The CPGB-ML has made the decision to make this concise statement public as fair warning to our own comrades not to associate or communicate with him regarding party matters, and as a public duty to other organisations that he may approach – who may wish to discuss these matters with him. | 501 |

| 9 | The demands made by a delegation of zionist groups and taken up with alacrity by former Labour health minister Wes Streeting were:
1. That NHS England, NHS trusts, and pressure the Police, GMC and the Medical Practitioner Tribunal Service (MPTS) should all be forced into taking stronger action against pro-Palestine and anti-genocide doctors. The fact that disproportionate and indeed unlawful action has been taken against targeted doctors has been clearly demonstrated.
2. That the IHRA must be explicitly rolled out across the NHS. Streeting indicated his assent to this, and in September 2025 went further and announced that NHS England and the integrated care boards (ICBs) had been instructed to implement it and all NHS trusts asked to do likewise.
3. That for data monitoring purposes, Judaism should be recognised as an ethnicity as well as a religion. Again, Streeting agreed to this request.

| 11 | The repercussions of simultaneously degrading Saudi oil infrastructure and blockading both the Bab al-Mandeb and the strait of Hormuz cannot be overstated – either for the Saudi economy or for global oil supplies.
As the Anglo-American imperialist camp continues to ratchet up its middle-eastern war front in the hopes of reviving its waning hegemony and resetting its crisis-ridden economy, the price is already being felt by billions of workers around the world – and is set to rise far higher in the near future.

| 13 | New party leaflet issued by our comrades in Walton, Liverpool, but relevant everywhere:
The reactionary deportation rally held on County Road on 13 June was presented by its organisers as a ‘grassroots’ movement speaking on behalf of ordinary working people of Walton.
In reality, it was another attempt to redirect working-class anger away from capitalism and towards other workers.
The reactionary mob that assembled was replete with St George’s flags, Union Jacks and christian imagery that appeared to be referencing the Crusades of the middle ages (more wars of elites over middle-eastern resources!) They chanted slogans like “Get them out” and hurled provocative abuse at the counter-demonstration that was assembled over the road.
Meanwhile, the opposition responded with chants of “Refugees welcome here” whilst waving Palestinian flags. While many were no doubt motivated by good intentions, the activities of this supposedly ‘progressive’ side were as self-defeating as those of the reactionaries.
Clearly, such empty sloganeering does nothing to explain the real reason for mass migration in the modern age. It does nothing to help anyone recognise why our own ruling class engages in endless economic and military warfare all over the world, or how that warfare devastates whole countries and leads to the mass displacement of targeted populations.
Screaming about (or at) migrants also does not bring us any closer to understanding the root causes of the housing shortages, disappearing public services, rising unemployment and increasing deprivation being suffered by the working class in Britain – of all ethnic backgrounds.
The whole spectacle was, in fact, a carefully curated pantomime that neither enlightened nor persuaded anyone, and had little to do with the everyday concerns of Walton’s residents.

As part of a session focused on imperialism and war, Comrade Joti Brar draws attention to the heightened war drive of the imperialists that is pushing us ever deeper into a third world war.
This is not a policy choice, it is the inevitable result of contradictions that are inherent in the global capitalist economic system – contradictions that have created an economic crisis of overproduction so deep as to threaten the very survival of the western monopoly-financier elites. This is a systemic crisis from which the ruling capitalist class has no rational way out; its only answer is war, death, destruction and looting on an immense scale.
It is becoming clearer by the day that the billionaires are prepared to sacrifice hundreds of millions of workers to maintain their financial enslavement over the world’s peoples. The continued existence of their predatory system is the greatest threat that humanity faces today.
They are incapable of letting up because to do so would be to admit defeat. Across Asia, Africa, the Americas, Europe and Oceania, Joti points out how every corner of our world is either being militarised by the imperialists, or being forced onto a war-ready footing in response to imminent imperialist threat.
We must recognise that what is lacking most in the epoch-defining struggle now unfolding between the forces of Anglo-American/Nato-led imperialism on the one hand and the anti-imperialist camp on the other is a meaningful movement on the home front.
In Britain, the controlled opposition in and around the Labour party has kept the working class in servitude, policing an ‘official’ antiwar movement, an ‘official’ Palestine solidarity movement, an ‘official’ anti-austerity movement and ‘official’ trade unions. In this way, workers are kept powerless and imperialism is left free to continue perpetrating its wars and genocides across the globe – to the detriment of British workers also, who are suffering ever worse conditions of life while being prepared to become disposable cannon fodder for the war machine, whose role is to preserve and entrench our own wage-slavery.
Join the Anti-Fascist International and help to build the movement we so desperately need: one that will sincerely and energetically fight against zionism, fascism, militarisation and imperialist war. That will work to combine rather than fragment our efforts. That will expose (not reinforce) the endless propaganda lies (about Russia, China, Iran, Palestine, the DPRK, the Sahel, Venezuela, Cuba etc …) that are being fed to the people every day. Comrade Ranjeet Brar of the CPGB-ML addresses the launch meeting of the British chapter of the Anti-Fascist International in London – a new organisation whose members have the chance to build it up into the genuinely anti-imperialist antiwar movement we desperately need.
Comrade Ranjeet is the general secretary of our party and a long time anti-zionist, antiracist, anti-fascist and anti-imperialist activist. He quotes the revolutionary hero and author Nikolai Ostrovsky:
“Man’s dearest possession is life. It is given to him but once, and he must live it so as to feel no torturing regrets for wasted years, never know the burning shame of a mean and petty past; so live, that dying he might say: all my life, all my strength were given to the finest cause in all the world – the fight for the liberation of mankind.” (How the Steel Was Tempered, 1932)
And he reminds us also of the words of the great Paul Robeson: “Every artist, every scientist, every writer must decide now where he stands. He has no alternative. There is no standing above the conflict on Olympian heights. There are no impartial observers. The battle front is everywhere. There is no sheltered rear.
“The artist must take sides. He must elect to fight for freedom or for slavery. I have made my choice. I had no alternative.” (Here I Stand, 1958)
He goes on to outline some of what is happening in Britain today and explains what we need to do to oppose the increasing level of repression by the British ruling class against genuine antiwar activism.
