Over time, Shaykh Ahmad al-Tijani (RA) became known not only for his knowledge, but also for his sincerity, humility, and unwavering devotion to Allah. People were drawn to his character before they were drawn to his words—a reminder that the greatest form of da'wah is often good conduct. #SafarSeries #Anatomyofsufism

Al-Daylami reports that Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bestow peace and blessings upon him) said, خير الناس العرب وخير العرب قريش وخير قريش بنو هاشم The best people are the Arabs; the best Arabs are Quraish and the best of Quraish are tribe of Hashim (his family).

🧵 “I Visited Karbala and Wept” — Shaykh Ibrahim Niasse (RA) and the Martyrdom of Imam Husayn (RA) By: Anatomy of Sufism ___ A thread on love, legacy, and a scholar's spiritual journey to the soil of sacrifice. 🩸🕋 Imam Husayn ibn Ali (RA), beloved grandson of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, was martyred at Karbala on the 10th of Muharram (Ashura) in 680 CE — refusing to bow to tyranny. His stand became the eternal symbol of truth over oppression. --- 2️⃣ Many honor this legacy, but few Sunni scholars expressed such intense love for Husayn (RA) as Shaykh al-Islam Hajj Ibrahim Niasse (RA) — leader of the Tijaniyya, lover of Ahlul Bayt, and one of the greatest Sufi saints of the 20th century. --- 3️⃣ Yes — Shaykh Ibrahim visited Karbala. And in his Diwan, he recorded his spiritual experience with verses that echo across time: > لَدَىٰ كَرْبَلَا زُرْتُ الْحُسَيْنَ تَوَسُّلًا لِوَالِدِهِ الْأَرْضَىٰ، مِنَ اللهِ طَالِبًا In Karbala, I visited Al-Husayn seeking a means to his father (Ali), the pleased one, and seeking a means to Allah ﷻ... Ali, the father of the two grandsons, the Lion of Muhammad ﷺ. By whose sharp sword I ward off calamities... 📘 From his poem Sayr al-Qalb (Diwan Sīr) --- 5️⃣ This wasn’t symbolic. Shaykh Ibrahim walked the land of Karbala. He stood near the shrine of Husayn, greeted his spirit, and wept — not out of ritual, but out of true maḥabba (spiritual love). --- 6️⃣ In another verse, he says: زُرْتُ كربلا وسلمت على روح الحسين ودمعي جارٍ كسيْل العرم “I visited Karbala and greeted the soul of Husayn. My tears flowed like a mighty flood.” This is not just poetry — this is wilāya (sainthood). --- 7️⃣ For Shaykh Ibrahim Niasse (RA), love of Ahlul Bayt was not political, nor sectarian — it was foundational. He once said: “Whoever has no love for Husayn in his heart — he is not of us.” A powerful message rooted in prophetic love ﷺ. --- 8️⃣ The legacy of Karbala teaches: ✅ Speaking truth to power ✅ Honoring the Prophet's ﷺ family ✅ Sacrificing comfort for conviction And Shaykh Ibrahim embodied these values in life, travel, and teaching. --- 9️⃣ As Ashura (10th Muharram) approaches — reflect on this: Even centuries later, the hearts of saints still cry for Imam Husayn. And through their tears, we are reminded of what Islam truly stands for: Justice. Truth. Love. --- 🔟 May Allah raise us among those who love the Prophet ﷺ and his noble family. May He bless the soul of Imam Husayn (RA), and the soul of Shaykh Ibrahim Niasse (RA) — the one who cried in Karbala. Retweet to revive the love of Ahlul Bayt ❤️ #Ashura #Karbala #AnatomyOfSufism #ImamHusayn #IbrahimNiasse #Tijaniyya

Those who met Shaykh Ahmad al-Tijani (RA) did not merely find a student of knowledge, they found a man deeply devoted to worship. He spent long periods in dhikr, reflection, and devotion, striving to embody the knowledge he had acquired. For him, the goal of knowledge was transformation, not information. #Safarseries #Anatomyofsufism

"Whoever saves one life, it is as if he has saved all of humanity." (Qur'an 5:32) On World Sickle Cell Day, we remember every warrior fighting silently with courage and determination. May Allah grant healing to the sick, strength to caregivers, and awareness to our communities. Wa alaykum salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. The subject of spiritual stations (Maqāmāt) is indeed a very important one. Shaykh al-Islam Al-Hajj Ibrahim Niasse (raḍiyallāhu 'anhu) discussed it in his book Maqāmāt ad-Dīn ath-Thalātha (The Three Stations of the Religion), wherein he explains that the entire religion revolves around the three stations mentioned in the Hadith of Jibril: Islam, Īmān, and Iḥsān. According to Shaykh Al-islam hajj Ibrahim Niasse, these are not merely theoretical concepts but living spiritual realities through which the servant journeys toward Allah. Islam concerns outward submission, Īmān concerns inward belief and certainty, while Iḥsān is the station of spiritual excellence and spiritual realization. Among the maqāmāt that the seeker traverses on the path to Allah are: • Tawbah (Repentance) • Istiqāmah (Steadfastness) • Wara‘ (Scrupulousness) • Zuhd (Detachment from worldly distractions) • Sabr (Patience) • Shukr (Gratitude) • Tawakkul (Reliance upon Allah) • Riḍā (Contentment with Allah's decree) • Mahabbah (Love of Allah) • Ma‘rifah (Knowledge of Allah) • Mushāhadah (Spiritual Witnessing) These stations help the seeker purify the soul, strengthen faith, and progress toward the station of Iḥsān, which the Prophet ﷺ defined as: "That you worship Allah as though you see Him; and if you do not see Him, then indeed He sees you." (Sahih Muslim) The relevance of studying the maqāmāt is that they provide a roadmap for spiritual growth and help the believer understand the stages of drawing nearer to Allah through sincerity, dhikr, worship, and good character. In shā’ Allah, I will dedicate a future session to discussing these stations in detail, especially as explained by Shaykh al-Islam Al-Hajj Ibrahim Niasse in Maqāmāt ad-Dīn ath-Thalātha. Barakallahu fikum for the excellent recommendation.
