New US strikes on Iran may restart war Trump wants to freeze
Despite the excitement around Donald Trump's new sanctions and even the US strikes against the Iranian island of Larak just hours ago, much suggests that Trump is not seeking a dramatic ratcheting up of pressure on Iran.
According to reports Sunday, the US military hit Iranian launchers on the island to prevent Tehran from planting new mines in the Strait of Hormuz. This is the first known US strike against the country since Trump announced a ceasefire. Details are forthcoming...
The only thing Trump "wants" is to steal and scam as much money as possible before the empire replaces him with another manager. RS keep publishing these retarded articles based in face value propositions and keep refusing to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. It's always these hyper focused pieces that seem to have been written by an alien who only landed on this planet yesterday and didn't quite have enough time to learn any context.

CIA chief proposed trilateral talks during Moscow visit - Axios
Ratcliffe proposed a trilateral meeting between Putin, Trump and Zelensky during his covert trip to Moscow in an effort to find a resolution to the ongoing Ukraine conflict, Axios has reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.
Ratcliffe made an unannounced trip to Moscow on August 25. The following day, Kremlin spokesman Peskov confirmed that contact between the two countries' intelligence services had taken place, but said Putin had not met with the CIA chief. "Of course, Putin is immediately briefed on everything," Peskov said, calling the meeting "a positive phenomenon" while declining to give further details...

Board of Peace using Gaza reconstruction funds to erase evidence of Israel's genocide
US President Donald Trump's Board of Peace is directly funding rubble removal and road paving operations across Gaza that are erasing evidence of Israel's genocide and paving the way for the annexation and Jewish settlement of the strip.
Palestinian researcher and political writer Muhammad Shehada of the European Council on Foreign Relations reported on 27 August that the Board of Peace is "paying the expenses of the IDF's covert transfer of rubble (mixed with dead bodies) out of Gaza."
"The money is taken from Gaza's reconstruction funds," Shehada highlighted. To date, only the US, Morocco, and the UAE have provided any actual funding to the Board of Peace...

Iran oil revenues surpass $7bn despite US war, siege
Tehran has transferred $7.5 billion in oil revenues to its central bank since March, despite Washington's blockade, sanctions, and the deadly US Israeli war that killed thousands, Iranian media reported on 29 August. Iran's Fars News Agency said the funds are sufficient to cover the government's foreign currency expenditures from July through December.
The report cites information from the Iranian Oil Ministry. Iranian oil sales between 21 March and 22 July - the first four months of the Iranian year according to the Persian calendar - hit 99 percent of the amount projected in the budget for that particular time period, the Fars report said...

Christian leaders urge Trump to create an immigration pathway to help Canadian Jews escape growing antisemitism
...In a letter sent to Trump on Thursday, the National Association of Christian Lawmakers (NACL) and its partners called for the administration to direct the US State Department and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to develop "lawful, secure and appropriately expedited pathways," for eligible Jewish Canadian nationals and their families.
"For generations, America has served as a refuge for people fleeing religious persecution," the group wrote in the letter to Trump. "We urge you to ensure that, consistent with federal law and the security interests of the United States, that door remains open to our Jewish brothers and sisters in Canada who need it today..."

US forces strike Iranian rocket launchers, first military action in a month
United States forces struck two Iranian rocket launchers on Iran's Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz, a US official confirmed to media.
It marks the first such military action in a month, as the US has been focusing its efforts on an economic offensive against the Islamic Republic.
Per media reports, a US official confirmed the Sunday strikes, stating that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) was observed attempting to launch rockets with sea mines into the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump pledges to replenish US Strategic Petroleum Reserve following landmark Venezuela deal

Man arrested near U.S. Capitol with guillotine in pickup truck bed
...In a Tuesday news release, the police department announced the arrest of 35-year-old Philan-Tam-Duy Le of Julian, California. Officers noticed Le’s pickup truck, which was illegally parked along the 100 block of East Capitol Street, just after 3:00 p.m.
Police said that the suspect drove to Washington, D.C. from California, and investigators are reviewing his background to determine his motivations for traveling to the nation’s Capitol.
USCP shared photos of the guillotine retrieved from the back of the truck. A relative told The Los Angeles Times he recognized the vehicle as his brother’s, describing Le as a free spirit who worked as a tattoo artist and piercer to fund his travels. He added that the guillotine was likely a “symbol of disapproval,” noting that his brother disliked both President Donald Trump and California Governor Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.).

The suit was filed on Friday, August 21st, in Charlotte’s Mecklenburg County Superior Court by her uncle, Frank Scott Haskell, against the City of Charlotte and Professional Police Services Inc., also known as Professional Security Services (PSS). It asserts that Zarutska’s death was preventable, claiming that the city and the Charlotte Area Transit System’s security company failed to put proper protections in place despite being aware of the safety concerns in the area before the attack on Zarutska.

President Donald Trump has signed Executive Order (EO) 14420, declaring a national emergency to restrict the import and installation of foreign-made electric grid components deemed a national security threat.
According to Trump, the Wednesday EO, “Declaring a National Emergency to Secure the United States Bulk-Power System,” fulfills his highest duty as president: “protecting the national security, foreign policy and economy of this country.”
The order warns that foreign supply of certain power grid equipment “constitutes an unusual and extraordinary threat” to U.S. national security. It prohibits the acquisition, importation, transfer, or installation of foreign grid components that could pose risks to U.S. security or electricity supply.

U.S. Coast Guard interdicts, destroys suspected drug boat carrying more than $54M worth of cocaine
The United States Coast Guard (USCG) stopped a vessel carrying more than 7,000 pounds of cocaine in the Caribbean.
The agency interdicted the “suspected drug smuggling vessel” about 50 miles south of the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico, finding the cocaine worth approximately $54.5 million, the Coast Guard announced in a Thursday statement.
“This interdiction shows what ready crews and strong interagency partnership can achieve in the maritime domain,” said USCG Southeast District Commander Admiral Adam Chamie.
The USCG Cutter Richard Dixon stopped the vessel on Friday and the five unnamed people onboard were detained for further investigation. The agency then destroyed the vessel because “it posed a hazard to navigation,” and an image provided by the USCG shows the boat engulfed in flames.
