Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU), through its AI and Robotics Center of Excellence, held a discussion with freshman and junior students to introduce the AI and Robotics Club and promote student engagement in technology and innovation.
The discussion highlighted the Center’s plans for the 2019 E.C. academic year, previous competition achievements, and upcoming projects. An Ethiopian delegation led by AASTU Team members (Dr. Melaku Berhe, Dr. Yodit G/Alif, and Dr. Geremew Teklu ) participated in the 6th International Olympiad on Financial Security, held in Krasnoyarsk, Russian Federation, from September 26 to October 2, 2026.
The Olympiad brought together students selected from universities and high schools from 46 countries, competing in Information Security and International Relations streams.
Representing Ethiopia, Tihitina Mekonnen, a student at Addis Ababa University, earned a Second-Level Degree Award in International Relations, marking a notable achievement for the Ethiopian delegation.

As part of this initiative, 42 participants who completed a three-month Cisco training program received certificates today. The certificates were presented by Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Kemal Ibrahim and Director of the Continuing Education Program Dr. Adamu Gizachew.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Kemal highlighted the importance of professional training and internationally recognized certifications in complementing university degrees and preparing participants for the global digital job market.

የአዲስ አበባ ሳይንስና ቴክኖሎጂ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ፕሬዚዳንት ዶ/ር አሥራት ዓፀደወይን ከአካዳሚክ እና ከአስተዳደር ሠራተኞች እንዲሁም ከተማሪዎች ሕብረት ተወካዮች ጋር በመሆን የበዓለ ሲመታቸውን የመጀመሪያ መድረክ ንግግር አድርገዋል። በመድረኩም የተቋሙን ቀጣይ የትኩረት አቅጣጫዎች እና የለውጥ እቅዶች ይፋ አድርገዋል።
ዶ/ር አሥራት በንግግራቸው አዲስ አበባ ሳይንስና ቴክኖሎጂ ዩኒቨርሲቲ አራተኛ ቤታቸው መሆኑን ገልጸው ተቋሙ ከሌሎች ዩኒቨርሲቲዎች በአዎንታዊ መልኩ የሚለይባቸው በርካታ ጥንካሬዎች እንዳሉት አንስተዋል። ሆኖም አሁን ያሉትን ጠንካራ ጎኖች ይበልጥ በማጠናከር የታዩ ክፍተቶችን በአጭርና በረጅም ጊዜ ዕቅዶች በመሙላት እንዲሁም ከኢንዱስትሪዎች እና ከዓለም አቀፍ ተቋማት ጋር በቅንጅት በመሥራት ዩኒቨርሲቲውን በምርምር፣ በፈጠራና በኢኖቬሽን የላቀ የልህቀት ማዕከል ማድረግ እንደሚገባ አጽንኦት ሰጥተዋል::
