GHANA TEACHERS' UPDATES

Over Ghc12.6 million contracts has been signed by the new NASPA President and his executive with Zeus Atlas Ltd which i believes the new Ghana National Service Authority Director gave them access to National Service Personnel payroll before the monies were deducted from our account on Friday when the May allowance was paid without any explanation to service personnel. Yesterday, according to the NASPA President address on Zoom, they have signed an agreement with Zues Atlas Ltd to provide a "capacity building programme" for National Service Personnel of which every service personnel would be charged Ghc180, Ghc60 every month starting from May. During the NASPA President address, he stated that this year Service Personnel are over 70,000 and each will face a compulsory deduction of Ghc180 for Zues Atlas Ltd. He also noted that his " Capacity Building programme " is a three (3) years contract therefore the current Level 400 students in our tertiary institutions will also face thisGhc180 deduction next year when they start their National Service. When the NASPA President was ask about the reasons why this programme must be compulsory, he said " those asking the questions should speak for themselves and not speak for others because we are over 70,000 and only few were present at the meeting ". Without any tangible reasons why this programme should be "Compulsory". We here by pray to the media houses, Opinion leaders and youth activists to help us convey this message to the President of the land H.E John Dramani Mahama for his attention since our NSS Director refuse to talk about this issue. We firmly believe there is something wrong in this contract if not it should be "voluntary". Our humble question is, which Constitutional provision in the NASPA Constitution permit the NASPA President to burden Service personnel with a dedication of over Ghc12.6 million without their consent? Must it be compulsory? When we asked our this Executives for clarification, they said they " have no idea about this contract and deductions " Who ever is reading this message, please help us share it till it reaches our President.
