US futures edged lower, while oil surged after the US launched retaliatory strikes against Iran following renewed attacks on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
🚨 The US carried out retaliatory strikes against Iran after renewed attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The US also revoked a waiver allowing the sale of Iranian crude, while Iran pledged to take "decisive actions" to safeguard its national interests. Brent crude climbed above US$75/bbl.
💻 Semiconductor stocks came under pressure as investors questioned whether massive AI-related capital spending can justify current valuations. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index fell 4.7%, dragging the Nasdaq lower.
