Me: Hmm, do we really need this method call in all test cases?
LLM: Yes, the method call is needed because [provides elaborate explanation].
Me: But we didn't need it in the other test class?
LLM: That's because [provides elaborate explanation].
Me: Alright, sounds good. But let's see if they pass without it.
LLM: Okay, I will remove the call and run the tests...
LLM: Oh wait they passed! I was wrong because [provides elaborate explanation]
Me: You know what to do.
LLM: Yeeeah, one, two, three, four ...
The reason LLM almost dragged me into its misbelief was because my understanding of that method call was weak. I almost believed it, but decided to double check.
That is the difference between vide coders and software engineers with LLM tools. I almost became a vibe coder today 😁️️️️

Unit testlarni ko'ngildagidek fix qila olmagandan keyin LLMga aniq instruksiya berdim... Hamma testlarni run qilib menga javoblarni ro'yxat qilib ber: PASS yoki FAILED. Keyin birgalikda har birini qanday fix qilishni muhokama qilamiz.
LLM esa testlarni run qildida va shart o'zi bilgancha yana fix qilib quya qoldi🗿
Jazo sifatida birdan milliongacha sanashni buyurdim.

Kichik tamir uchun bugun kvartiramga bir nemis usta aka keldi. Ozroq gapga tutdim...
Men: Do you like your job?
Usta: Yes, I do. I have been doing it for 15 years!
Men: Oh that's cool. Is it hard?
Usta: Yes, it is quite hard, but hey... AI won't take my job
Men: 🥶🥶🥶

Data Science va Data Engineering O‘zbekistonda qanchalik rivojlangan? Mahalliy kompaniyalarda bu sohaga bo‘lgan ehtiyoj qanchalik katta?
Mendan tez-tez: "Software Engineer yoki Data Engineer bo‘laymi? Tanishlarim Data Engineeringga talab katta va u sexy yo‘nalish deyishyapti", deb so‘rab turishadi.
Men esa hayron qolaman: bu rostmi yoki shunchaki Data Engineering kurslarini sotayotgan odamlarning gapimi? Siz qanday fikrdasiz?

Bir Bozniyalik do'stim O'zbekistonga sayohat qilyapti. Taksilarimizga chiqib hayron qolibdi.
Sen ham 30 yildan beri bizni ovqatlarni yeb kelganinga seni ham 70 to'xtatib qololmasdi dedim.

Buvim ham meni bunchalik maqtamagan 🤪
It works on my machine degan futbolkalar kiyish davri o'tdi. You are absolutely correct degan futbolka qayerdan zakaz qilsam bo'ladi?

Proyektimizda bir gipotezamni sinab ko'rish uchun bir java faylni manually o'zgartirib ko'rdim. Urishmanglar meni, 4-5 qator kod xolos. Hop mayli boshqa qilmayman.
Keyin esa, proyektni build qilganimda u menga error berdi. Uff deb errorni copy-paste qilib LLM agentga fix it deb tashab quydim.
Keyin Sundar internal chatdan yozib qoldi. Unga javob berib, LLM agentga qaytsam yozgan hamma kodimni o'chirib tashab, proyekt yana build bo'layotganidan hursand bo'lib o'tirgan ekan.
Ayb o'zimda, instructions were not clear 🤖

Bugun ofisda bir tanish Googler bilan gaplashib qoldik…
He: Hey Vohid, do you play chess?
Me: No, not really. I tried before but it didn’t really work out. Not enough IQ, I guess :D
He: Haha, but you are from Uzbekistan right?
Me: Yes, I am!
He: Then, you know Javokhir?
Me: Yeah, definitely. We are really proud of him.
He: Damn he is good, he kicked everyone’s ass at FIDE. No one saw it coming, crazy!

Qiziq bir fakt o’qib qoldim. Aytishlaricha, daromadning 4 barobar oshishi hayotga ijobiy ta’sir ko’rsatishi bo'yicha bosh og’rig’ining uchdan bir qismiga teng ekan.
O’ylab ko’rsam, haqiqatan ham shunday! Deylik, sizga tanlov berildi: hozirgi daromadingiz 4 barobar oshadi, lekin har kuni boshingiz og’riydi. Ko’pchiligimiz (shu jumladan men ham) bunga rozi bo’lmas edik.
Lekin, “daromadingiz 4 barobar oshadi, ammo uch kunda bir marta boshingiz og'rib turadi” deyishsa, sizlarni bilmadim-u lekin men o’ylab ko’rgan bo’lardim 😄

Germaniyani qonun-qoida mamlakati deb bejiz aytishmaydi. Eng mashxur qoidalardan biri bu Datenschutz, ya'ni fuqarolarning shaxsiy ma'lumotlarini himoya qilish qonunidir. Yana bir, ehtimol siz bilmagan qonun esa Üble Nachrede (tuhmat) hisoblanadi. Agar kimdir sizga nisbatan tuhmat qilsa, ushbu qonun asosida ularni sudga berishingiz mumkin.
Afsuski, Germaniyada biznes egalari Google Maps platformasida ushbu qonunni suiiste'mol qilishadi. Ular 1 yoki 2 yulduzli salbiy sharhlarni xuddi shu qonunni ro‘kach qilib Googledan olib tashlashni talab qilishadi. Google esa har bir salbiy sharh uchun sudlashishga vaqt va resurs ajratmaydi. Shu sababli Germaniyada Google’dagi sharhlarga to‘liq ishonib bo‘lmaydi.
Yaxshi yangilik shundaki, Google Maps yaqinda yangi funksiya qo‘shdi: endilikda biznes profilida nechta sharh olib tashlanganini ko‘rish imkoniyati mavjud.

Googleda qomatni saqlab qolish ancha distsiplina tapab qiladi. Bu yerda juda ko'pchilik har xil davlatlarga tez-tez travel qiladi va qaytishlarida ofis uchun snacklar olib kelishadi.
Juda mazzali snacklar, yo'q deyish juda qiyin, ha mayli bitta olay deysiz ko'p xolatda. 300 kaloriya u yerda, 400 kaloriya bu yerda, va qarabsizki tez orada yumshoq va do'mboq qorinchangizni quchoqlab o'tiribsiz.

I’ve been having a problem for the last 2-3 years. I have too many things to do. The problem has been constant.
It is great to have many things to do, this makes my life busy and full of pursuit. Boredom is the last thing I wanna have. I would rather be stressed with too many things to do than be bored. These things are not unimportant things to do, they are legit things related to my health, family, personal projects/aspirations, and work. I need them all completed. I want them all completed.
You see... as a software engineer I am used to making calculated decisions and finding the optimal solution to problems. However, I realized that the bottleneck to completing this massive amount of things is the speed of decision making. I make decisions very slowly because I want to make the best decision possible.
I realized that most of these things aren't worth the long careful consideration and cons/pros analysis. For example, I should just fucking buy that flight ticket or just choose the first dentist who seems sorta good and see how it goes. The consequence of most of these decisions are not catastrofic.
Here comes the delegation. Since I used to think that all these matters I am dealing with are important I would never delegate even though I very well know that delegation is the only solution. Once my mindset changed around the true importance of things I want to get done, I became emotionally and mentally open to delegation.
All I need to do is to continuously (forever) learn to pick the right challenges to spend my time and enegery on. For the rest, I will simply decide without deep analysis and/or delegate.
If this problem exists in your life as well, maybe my perspective above will help. If you have an alternative, please drop a comment below.
Peace yo!
